Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance Please help with Oil and Water Gauge sensor locations!

OK, so I just got my AC 52mm Water Temperature and Oil temperature gauges. The only thing is, is that I have no idea how to install the sensors, or where to put them...Any input is greatly appreciated

yeah you'll never learn if you always have someone do it for you.. I dunno either, but you might have to buy a sensor and weld in a bung or something for the oil, the water you've already got an engine temp read out on your celi so I bet you could tap into that signal from that sensor and use that to power your new water temp sensor. also if you go on ebay you can get a pro repair manual on CD rom for like 20 bucks shipped that'd tell you locations and stuff of all existing sensors. did you try calling the company that sold you the gauges and asking them what they suggest?

Well I bought the water temp also when to installed and the guy suggest me that I dont really need one and If he would tap it into the one tha car come i will messs up the reading or something like that so I ended up returning that one and getting a volt meter so I have Volt meter, air fuel ratio and oil pressure any of those I can take pics if you want to and show you how thw guy did it.

I'm sorry to be posting without any help for you, but you were right to jump down dude's throat. I hate when people have nothing helpful to add to the conversation, but still add their worthless comments. I mean, obviously the post creator doesn't know exactly what to do, so he/she is asking here hoping that somebody else who once had the same problem might be able to help out. That's what these forums are about: people helping people. What help did "find someone who does know" provide?

greddy makes an oil sensor adapter where is fits between the oil fliter and the stock oil filter fitting. You can easliy tap the sensors in the fittings on the adapter. You can use it for oil pressure and temp. Just make sure that when you get it the fittings fit for you gauges..if not you just have to buy some adapters that will fit it. Its way better that having to weld and mess with the oil pan. I think nopi.com and some other car sites have them since its a universal fit.
