In an auto or manual? In a 6 speed at 3rd gear it should be up to the 7 RPM or 8 dont remember.

depends on what car you are driving, whether gt or gts. also depends on if you are manual or automatic.

i looked at your profile and your model is not listed, along with whether or not its auto or manual so you'll have to be more specific thumbsup

i don't know exactly, but in my manual gts in 6th gear, i think 80 mph is somewhere around 4k rpms. give or take some..someone feel free to correct me if they know the actual number.

as long as your wheels/tires are still stock (or use the stock diameters) then your speedometer should still be calibrated to show 80 mph pretty accurately (it may be off by a few mph once you start getting past 100 mph though). changing the overall wheel diameter (whether through rims/tire or both) will make the mph differences off by a few unless you recalibrate your speedometer. in any case it shouldn't be off by more than a few mph either way.

and rpm's are really NEVER off.

i don't have the 5 speed gt as i already said what i had..but 4000 rpms doesnt sound like much of a stretch to me.

i run around 4g at 80mph. thats high to me. i used to have an eclipse and it ran about 3500 rpms goin 80. my celica has a really high winding noise when going fast. almost like its not suppose too. everyone else says its normal though.

the higher your rpm's are, the more 'wining' they will make. this is especially true for small gears because they go though the rpm band so fast
