Hey i just bought skunk2 lowering springs, and i went to go get a quote to see how much they cost to put on and the guy said that i needed a camfer kit or somethin because if i drop it and i don't have it the inside of my tires will go bald in a week, do i need to buy something else or does the GTS come with it?

A camber kit allows your suspensions camber to be adjusted and aligned past factory limits. If you drop your car, the wheel bottoms point out a little. You'd then get them aligned, but if you drop too low then the factory camber can't adjust that far, thus the camber links.

so im i gonna have to buy one?

i thought all you needed if you dropped it was some new shocks & struts

It depends on how low you drop it.

I'm having the same problem right now.

Mine are dropped 1.4 inches with Eibach springs, and the there is a lot of negative camber. The inside of my tires is down to about 25% of the thread, while the outside still has at least 75%. This is after about 4 months and 15k miles.

I'm going to hit up a shop this week to get it re-aligned, hoping that they'll be able to get it back to specs without a camber kit.

I believe it's closer to a 2 inch drop that requires a camber kit.

I am looking at buying Hotchkis lowering springs. When I called Hotchkis they suggested I get the camber kit. He told me they see a negative camber when Celicas are lowered, even at 1.5 inch drop. so i figured the kit is cheaper than new tires.

I went to suspensiongeek.com and they show this is all i need to drop my car 2 inches, it is a camber kit, but to me it only looks like 2 bolts. Is this what i actually need or is it a knock off. I copied and pasted the website, so if anyone can check it out, and help me out that would be great.

"The front struts in the Celica have no camber adjustability and have very little camber stock. However, there are two ways to increase camber. The method I used is legal for SCCA autocross and consists of replacing the top strut bolt with a "crash" bolt available from Toyota.

These bolts are used for crashed cars that have suspension damage and cannot be returned to stock camber. The bolts are available in three sizes: 1 Dot, 2 Dot and 3 Dot. The part numbers are as follows:

1 Dot 90105-15004

2 Dot 90105-15005

3 Dot 90105-15006

Each successive bolts will change front camber by -0.5 degrees. I used 2 Dot bolts in my car to get close to the camber I wanted, since 3 Dots would give me more than I wanted. The alignment I ended up settling on was as follows..."

I dropped my car 1.5 inches (H&R springs)My dunlop tires allowed up to .9 degrees negative camber, but they were able to get it down to .2 degrees. If you look at the wheels, you can barely tell, and it improves the handleing a bit.. but my tires are totally fine. I've heard of pleanty of people that have sportlines (2 inch drop), don't get camber kits, and there back camber is just fine..

I think it really depends where you take it.
