Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior keep carbon blue or no?

Well I just purchase my car in Jan 05', the color is carbon blue. I don't really like the color mainly because it looks black. I don't really like black cars because in my opinion when you have a body kit on with nice lines & nice details, i think the black doesn't do justice for it because it makes everything blend it together. I also dislike at how often I have to wash my car because you can see all the dirt easily. It's my 1st real dark color car i've owned. I'm thinking about getting a lighter car. To tell you the truth i'm beginning to hate the color itself.


Does anyone have any black, carbon blue celicas with a body kit on, maybe that will change my mind. I've only seen about 2-3 cars on ecelica.

maybe a dark metallic blue, liek spectra blue but darker.

Carbon blue is a bitch to keep clean, but if you didn't like the dark color why not keep looking for a lighter celica?

Sorry, I don't have a kit on mine to show you. Though, if you're gonna go to all that trouble to repaint it, make it an original color

i went to buy the car when i was in north carolina visiting my parents, i'm in rhode island, basically i was there for about 6days. Everything was cheap over there insurance, taxes, registration, etc. Imagine looking at like 10-20 different dealers, in 6 days span.

i had a carbon blue celica. I washed every freakin two days because it wouldn't stay clean. I always had swirlmarks, and weird uneven patterns. It always dusted easy as hell. At the moment, my car is the the shop repainted for a custom blue. Ditch the color.

carbon blue looks nice, but i dont like carbon fiber hoods with it.. just dosnt look smooth

the color is nice if you want a dark theme without having a black car.

yea i have carbon blue... ive had a lot of people tell me they thought it was a custom paint job. if having a nice ass color means i have to wash it more than normal, thats fine with me. besides, its badass when clean

I think carbon blue is sexy as hell just a bitch to keep clean. Its actually my favorite factory color for the celica.

i have carbon blue...at gas stations, people always compliment the color, they like how it can look black at times. and when its washed and waxed, it looks amazing!

i drive a carbon blue and i must admit i dont like the color.
i never was a fan of blue, and wanted my car black in the first place. and then i really liked carbon blue, then i wanted black once again, but i had no other choice and get carbon blue. i atleast got wut car i wanted though.

wut i really wish now is for my car to be white.

i have carbon blue to and to be honest i clean my car once a week!!! it easily get dirty and stuff!!! but i love it!!! people thinks its a custom paint job!!!

haha, carbon blue reminds me of my first celica.

Brand new 2000 gts, it was supposed to be black, but the body was carbon blue with black doors, fenders, hood and hatch. Guess it was a 7:30am monday or 3:15pm friday built car and it got through inspection. Really hard to tell the difference except for the blue metal flake in the paint. Needless to say I had to wait another 13 weeks for my "black" one to come in. Then after 3mos. of riding my motorcycle in cold weather I finally get the car. The first weekend I have it I nodded off at the wheel (worked an 18hr day) coming down the interstate and wiped the passenger side completely off the car and rolled it 4 times. What a bummer that was. But, I got a new 2001 out of it so I'm happy.

edit: I love my carbon blue. Carbon Fiber hood is on the way.
