thats right
sunday night, just finished raining heavily and i was hungry
get to the shopping center parking lot and turn in
before i know it im in about 3 inches of water and its getting deeper
i cant back out and i have no choice but to go forward
i almost get out before i hear the engine give a big chugg and a cel flash
the car never died but it scared the shit outta me
i pull over and shut the car off and notice steam or white smoke coming outta the tailpipe
i start cursing and calling myself a dumbass
i start it up again and it seems fine but when i rev to about 3 grand the engine starts choking
i have to get back home so i limit myself to 3 grand all the way home
once i park the car i rev it again and i get to about 5 grand, i think to myself "its getting better"
i wait til the next morning to start it up and i get to about 5 and half grand
im pissed
i decided to take the intake off ( injen cold air ) and low an behold, a decent amount of water comes pouring out
i immediately put the now dry intake back on and start the car and it revs to 8600 without a problem
so all in all, i shit my pants and i found out that im a dumbass and i will never, ever drive while it is raining or even after it has heavily rained

i know that its a hassle to do, but you should really consider swapping the cai with the stock airbox when it rains hard. (or when it rains altogether). rice

the time you spend swapping it out could save you thousands in repairs. time is money after all...(wait is that the right quote to use?) rofl

umm yah...haha thumbsup

you lucky jerks got off easy. when I got water in my intake it hydrolocked my engine and blew my motor. Thank goodness my insurance covered it and replaced my motor or else I would have been celicaless for a long time.

Zero its funny you mention putting the stock box back in because thats excatly what I do when it stats to get all rainy here. I dont want to toy with fate again by driving in water.

cant say ive done that before... ahh crap
