My brother has a Mustang. Having researched products for his car, I've noticed that a pretty common mod is swapping the MAF from his mustang with that of an SVT Lightning. Supposedly it allows for better control of the air coming into the engine and adds some power.

I was just wondering if this is something that can be done with the Celica. Could we use the Supra's MAF in place of our factory one? Is this even possible or plausible? I really don't know and I was just curious. Thought someone else might know better.

I guess the SVT's might be bigger, therefore tricking the computer into thinking there's more air coming in than there actually is? I don't know, but it probably wouldn't work with ours. It'd be like wiring in that resistor for the same purpose, the ECU would just overide it within a week.

Toyota > Ford...I'm pretty sure our engine is much more sophisticated than which would require more precision and more 22zz or 1zz specific parts...Thats what I assume, on the other hand I may be wrong.

Also, the 2JZ-GTE's MAF sensor is larger than ours and I think a different plug, so it would require a bit of fabrication to be able to use it.

Yeah, they're the same. I had to look it up to be sure. But they are identical.
