I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a good site to buy a raised hood scoop in carbon fiber? I like the c-one style, any help is much appreciated!

Thanks, that's the only one I see on there for my car. I can't tell very good if it's higher than the stock hood scoop or not though.

Did you guys try to take off the scoop and take alook at the hood? I got scratch marks on the hood where the scoop seating on top of it. I don't know if I did the installation right. Are you supposed to have some sort of masking before you but the scoop on to avoid scratching the hood paint? Or put some double sided tape alone the edges, like you will use it when you put the body kit on? Thanks for advance.

I don't think you need to do that, but 3M tape would be yer best bet. But, don't be fooled by cheaper imitations, make sure you get 3M.

Just another reason for me to dislike the VIS raised c/f scoop.

Thanks for advance. just remove the black cowl which is underneath the stock scoop and place it underneath your new raised one... if you've already done that, you shouldn't need anything else

^^^ I doubt it would affect the engine adversely, although one may argue that the air is not being directed to the location the engineers desired. imo, however, the difference would be minimal

Function will remain the same but the problem is the VIS scoop sits on the hood outside of the channel down the center of the hood as opposed to fitting inside it like the stock, eval and c-one scoops do. Dirt gets in between there no matter what you do and wears the paint off the hood

the little black ting isnt for dirt, its to direct air to the back down by the headers i belive. but my strut bar covers the opening anyway so i figured even with the black thing in there it would not get down there. jsut wanted somone elses opinion

This is the only reason that I can think of causing the scratch. Are you saying the REAL C-ONE scoop does not cause problem like this and it is a perfect fit?
