I am going to check my air filter to see if it needs replacing, and whether or not it already has a K & N air filter in it, since I might be buying one. I can't figure out where the air filter is. The box marked red contains your ECU. The one marked with a yellow outline contains your air filter.

Thanks for the help. I cracked open the compartment, it's so confusing the way the compartment is held down. Instread, 4 or 5 screws to hold it down would have been much easier.
