Though i got my car only day before yesterday i have used the e-shift a little bit and i feel the car is much more responsive.. though it does take a bit of getting used to .. i noticed it isnt too easy to race while using that ... it will take some time to get used to it ...but once you master it i think it works like a charm ... want to race ... just shift into manual ... downgear and ur ready to go ...

It's slow, you can't land lift. rolleyes
Nothing beats a true manual transmission. Except for maybe the tiptronic on Ferrari's. grin

i like it and its fun to use every once in a while, however racing with it sucks, and i'd rather have a manual

what's e-shift? is that the tiptronic feature on the GTS auto? i think manually shift the car thru the gears is faster than pushing the buttons, because i heard that even when you press the button to shift up/down, there is a lag. spineyes

Its okay, better than no shift buttons. But I prefer the auto shifting up and down with the shift knob. I think all the mazda autos have it and basically all the car companies are starting to have them except toyota of coarse.

There is a lag at times unless your RPM's are really high

I have it and I think it has too much of a lag to even bother racing with. I've driven an auto and manual celica, and the manual is a hell of a lot more responsive.I kinda' wish I had manual after driving one.

Well take it this way, two celicas: auto and manual, with the same turbo kit: C2Power. Both dyno at 250ish-hp and are both at the same psi, with stock internals.

seeing as they're both even, the Manual would still be a few seconds quicker because of the gear ratio of the tranny. rice

feel free to correct me. spineyes

also, i believe that the power would still be there, but because of the torque converter, the manual would retain most of the power created.

marco has an aem cai and a tanabe exhaust.

i have an aem cai and an apexi-n1 exhaust.

i doubt that aem tru pulley does anything, so pretty much its stock for stock grin this would be great!!! i heard that the 4GTS cant stay in lift to long and can hardly land in lift, so that pretty much an even race. grin

That doesn't sound right. The auto will have way more losses to the wheels, so how can both cars setup the same put down 250ish-hp? Unless they were measuring at the crank only.

^^^yes at the crank there shouldnt be a difference in BHP if the C2Power turbo kit raises the car to 250ish HP. but the HP to the wheels is a different story. Of course, the manual will be faster. thumbsup
