You actually paid them $150 to take a joy ride in your car? rofl
Sorry, but I hope you didn't leave home without your vaseline today!!

I have yet to find a dealership (or any auto related service establishment) that I'm completely happy with. That's why I want to learn how to do as much to my car as I can and eliminate the middle man!!

I'm learning my lessons the hard way until then ohboy

I can already do a lot of mechanical stuff to my car but this is way beyond what I can pull off on a saturday with my own tools. I took my car there in hopes that a professional could pin point the problems without hours or troubleshooting. Instead I took my car there to have them seriously joy ride and stand back and condemplate what the problem could be without them popping the hood or trying anything.

Looks like ill be buying the repair manuel and increas my skill.

If I get a chance ill post another vid/sound clip of the crazy crap toyota says is normal.

I agree. IMO the dealership is like any other business. It's hard to find one that is honest and is actually there for the customers. Until then, good luck. I took my brand new Celica to the dealership so their "electrical specialist" could look at my car and I knew close to as much as he knew about my car that I had learned in a few months of research. Instead of fixing my problem they pretty much blew me off. The fact is they are there to make money.

You should complain to the manager or someone that will care. I don't know if other dealerships have this person, but my local dealership has a Customer Satisfaction Rep. You could talk to someone to at least get your money back.

Good luck.

My dealership isn't too bad (because the service guy is a gamer and he saw my Half-Life 2 hat). The parts department is who tries to rape you.

I bought my Celica in Rotchester, Ny and I still can't get over how nice and professional everyone there was. everytime I've been there cince to get work done (alarm, oil change...) the same thing. they gave me a rental compt. because I was going to have work done that would take a few hours. the employees seemed like they were actually happy to be there. Don't get me wrong, they are the exception to the rule. Most dealerships don't care, most just want that check!

Same here in CT - delaers have impressed me as top notch...my first experience a few years back, I had a carburetor problem with my Corolla...they fixed it free of charge, out of warranty, and the service manager remarked "the problem should never have happened in the first place"

I had a body shop charge in November 04 that was almost $200 BELOW their written estimate, as they didn't need all the parts they originally suspected.

They gave me the name of their glass vendor when they couldn't figure out how to remove the rv mirror...the vendor came to my workplace and did it for $5

There's probably a different story to tell about the salespeople, but I haven't had contact locally, as I bought my Celi out of state...

My dealership lied to me, alot. I bought a used 00 GT with ABS and cruise, no prior accidents or any bodywork.
I realized on the way home there was no cruise control, no big deal.
Driving one day, had to hit the brakes for a raccoon.. I learned I didn't have ABS.
Then I go to get the rust around my windshield fixed, "when did you repaint this side?" ...what? "well feel here, then feel here." yup, my drivers side had been repainted.

Oh well, they knew that a 16 year old wasn't gonna figure out it was repainted... grr.

Get an estimate to have cruise & ABS installed & sue them for that amount. It will probably be as much as the cars worth. LOL

The next time they tell you "nothing is wrong," tell them to ride along in the car with you and then point out the things you are noticing. Did they drive it for 2 hours or something since the average rate is $65/hour or so I've heard.

the dealer here is alright, when i bring the car back a third time angry i had my breaks done, and they were squeeling like a bitch after. i go back, they look at it, come back and say everything is normal...i bring it back a few days later, they check again, some idiot put on a breakpad with a crack in it...they had to redo the break job and return the rotors...less life i get out of those...
other problems...down shifting to second tends to grind since i brought it there...they washed the car and scrached it up, refused to do anything bout either because "its an old car" angry angry angry angry fucking ass holes
i wont even go there for an oil change, they always spill oil all over my engine and it smells like shit angry
