Would it be wise to purchase a strut bar and a sway bar?
If so...
Which brands are the worst and which are the best??

From my experince. A front strut bar didn't make a difference.
If you are gonna buy a front strut bar. Get one that is a
one piece design. The rear strut bar made a big improvement.
The best one to buy would be a 3pt rear strut bar. I had
a Hypermotive 3pt rear strut bar.
Sway Bars will aslo make a big improvement.
For sway bar brands. I would go with Hotchkis.

i have the APR front strut bar and the hotchkis street sway bar kit with the front set on stiff, and the thing is awesome, well it is lowered also, the body does not roll and the cornering is only limited by the adhesion of the tires

sways will make a difference in body roll and handeling. Strut bars are only for siffening the chassis for better steering response. Your better off with sways 1st..unless you want some kind bing under you hood or trunk.

For front strut bars I've tried and had APR and RMM and both worked out nicely..
but ended up keeping Carbing happywink

like mentioned earlier get a one piece design... APR might be 3 but there's no welds for possible flex..
