Celica Forums General Discussion Engine and Performance HELP! with cai

I got most of the AEM cai installed but am having some difficulty connecting the ecu cooling hose into the radiator shroud, just wondering how any of you guys with aem cai's got it in, can you lube it up first?

i had the same problem you just have to push really hard, it will eventually go in you just gotta use a little elbow grease and it's probably not a good idea to lupe it up first.

it goes in a lil , but not all the way and the angles not the greatest either. its like its not even designed to fit.

does it have to be flush with the shroud, cause it won't budge and i'm hurting the shit outta my fingers. I also like how the installation book says a moderate aount of force.alright its starting to budge almost got it in.

I got mine most of the way in and will end up pushing it the rest of the way next time I have it proped up. As long as it's generally in you should be fine as long as you end up eventually making it flush. The angle sucks a lot and the damn book lied! A decent way to do it is get the shroud most of the way in then get under there with a small board and hammer, place the board over the shroud (so you don't shatter it) and give a little tappy, tap tap taparoo.

i used a hammer and a piece of wood

a wood stirrer paint stirrer stick free from home depot the 5gallon sized ones

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought that was a bayonet style connector where you had to take the tube apart and put the bottom piece into the radiator shroud at an odd angle then twist it into place.

i just didnt put it back in
