swapping motors for 15 hp is a huge waste IMO...but i think its only 10hp...either way you might as well swap the mr2 turbo motor (its heavy but easy to find parts and relatively cheap to mod)

I though it was 10 hp more because of the ecu they use and the higher octane gas they use in japan? How would that help using 91 crap octane over here confused

we get 93... i thought it had something to do with the ecu but the people said that it was different motor parts... nothing to do with gas or wiring... thats why im trying to find someone thats knows this stuff

^^its worthless getting an engine from japan.
the extra hp is only from the ECU. they brought the car here and tuned it alittle for emissions.

plus the octane rating will help alittle bit also cz the jdm 2zz is programmed for running on 93+ octane

okay!!! lets see i can have the motor cheaper than a usdm ship and everything which would you buy it from monkeywrenchracing.com for 1800 and they have usdm motors... and if can get a jdm motor for $900 ship flat... what would you go for? hard aint it grin

i think i might just go for the JDM motor

and you'd spend over 10 g's for a 3sgte? it doesn't bolt right in.. theres a lot of fabrication involved

10 G's on a motor with low gains...
I'd rather spend 10 G's on visuals for my car... then eat a snickers bar and drive in your car and then some how take a wrong turn and happen to run into a photo shoot but they dont have a car so you offer your car and get to have your car and picture on a cover of a magizine with hotties all over it..!
Eat a snickers and be famous! rofl

I agree, the extra HP comes from the setup & ECU, not the engine.
