i have to suck up a lot of pride and post this so i can gain some more help...here is the deal i just bought a jack from walmart that will actually fit under my car...but not all the way...anyway i (like the retard i am) jacked up the car under the drivers side floor mat...which is just thin metal...anyway today i went in my car for the first time since that and there is a huge hump where i bent the metal (it is located right by the plug)...

this is where i need your help...i am pretty sure that i just bent the floor sheet metal and it hasnt caused any damage to my actual frame...but if anyone knows for sure let me know ASAP...i resolved the issue by lifting the carpet up and beating back down with a rubber mallet(its still not level but it will have to do until i have time)... should i just try to beat it as level and possible and try and forget it every happened or should i think about cutting out a square in the area it was bent and weld some sheet metal onto it??? (i am a certified welder...but far from a certified mechanic)

I say, try to level it out using the rubber mallet as best you can. If you are satisfied then leave it as that. But since you are a certified welder, during your spare time, I would weld some new sheet metal onto it to make it even.

Ouch; don't be too hard on yourself. If I had a dollar for every dumb thing I ever did I could pay cash for a new EVO 8.

it takes a real man to admit hes made a mistake thumbsup

im pretty sure you can jus level it out w/ a hammer and pretend it never happend. jus dont ever do it again because next time you might really do some damage
