My dash has been open for almost 3 weeks, please help frown

So I just recently a 2000 toyota celica GTS, and one of my haggling points to get the car was that the front speakers didnt work. I figured I'd take it home and fix it myself. I took out the radio that came with the car; its not a stock radio, but its a Aiwa cdc-x217. My intentions were to install my radio, a Pioneer deh 1300...
I bought a new harness, because the one already in the car was rigged and crappy looking, come to find the new harness doesn't fit eek . After some research, and wire tracing, I found that the GTS models have an external amp! So I ordered a premium amp harness... The harness had male RCA jack on them. So, to avoid trying to apply the lady jacks to my radio harness; I cut the jacks, divided the pos and neg wires, and connected the wires to my radio harness...
In the moment of truth, I plugged in the harness with the radio and there was no sound mad !

After some playing around with both harnesses and both radios, now neither work! shocked And this morning I took the wire meter and played around, and I was posed to cross the ground (blk) wire, and power on (red) wire from the radio, to the ground (blk) wire on the harness, then connected it to the car... My radio turned on confused What the hell did I DO!?!? Did I reverse a feed, blow a fuse?!

I guess my questions are: Is there a harness for the toyota celica GTS mod that has no jacks, where i can just twist the wires?
AND Where is the AMP? and is it necessary to use it for all front and rear speakers to work?
I read somewhere that its behind the glove box, and thats where the wires feed, but i'm not finding anything... Is there a possibility that the previous owner took it out?? They jacked up everything else in the dash!

Idk about the harness but the amp should be behind the stereo to the passenger side
