Hey guys, if anyone can help me it would probably be you. I've never owned a Celica before, but it's one of my dream cars. I found a 2000 GT for $3,000 with 200,000 miles on it. Whoever owned the car before me decided to mistreat the interior, and it has a bit of cosmetic damage. However, I test drove it and I thought it drove nicely. The guy won't go lower than $3,000. Some people tell me to stay away from it because miles are too high, others say for the year it's understandable. I don't really have a big budget, and I really want this car. Am I being ripped off? Should I just give up and find something else? If this is the wrong place for this thread, then remove it or whatever, I understand. Thanks.

You can't edit posts it looks like...ignore the "whoever owned it before me" part. I don't own it yet. I guess I'm getting ahead of myself.

Give this a shot for further research in your area (Alabama, near 36695 ???)... http://msn.autotrader.com/cars-for-...nerId=100023102&captureSearch=true&Log=0In Los Angeles area (Beverly Hills, 90210), I see about 25 Celica. ALL Ranging from $5k - $9k, all with 100k - 150k miles. If the interior is really bad, and the car has over 200k miles on it -- 50k miles more than its peers -- AND he wont go lower than $3k, you might want to take a look at something else. Toyota engines can take a lot of beating, but for the 200k miles which is already on the engine, this sounds like he should price it accordingly for the 12 year old vehicle that it is. Either he wants to sell it, or he doesn't want to sell it. We all love our Celicas, but some times it is time to move on. Have him call you when he wants to drop the price further. This is only my opinion, so take it as a grain of salt. Side note, the site settings say that you should be able to edit your post within 30 minutes from the time it was initially created. I'll look at the code to confirm if its doing something else. Thanks for the headsup!

I picked up my 2000 GT with 163k for $3000 in NH with no rust and a nice clean interior. Runs excellent, uses no oil. Better than average around here.

Quick replies! CaffeineKid,thank you for your suggestions. Someone else did tell me let the guy call me when he wants to sell it for lower, and take the offer. It's really hard not to just give in. Sadly, those suggestions are just too far for me. I can't drive 100+ miles just to look at a car. Thank you again! Wayne, I'll have to admit you lucked out! That is a steal.
