Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and to Toyota as well. I have a 2002 Celica GT with only 72k on the odometer and have been busy trying to work out the bugs. It has a bad case of the 1zz oil consumption which I have done 2 piston soaks with Kreen to no avail. I replaced the broken clogged up cold air intake with a short air intake, changed spark plugs, and removed the throttle body and iac valve for thorough cleaning. I also did the seafoam treatment in the intake, oil, & fuel.
The performance is much better now, but the car will stall anytime I punch the throttle. It doesnt stall during normal conditions but anytime you give it sudden wide open throttle (no matter if it's at idle or higher throttle setting) it will stall. I know the engine isn't gonna be at it's healthiest until the oil consumption problem is resolved, but it will be a while til I rebuild this engine and want to try to get it running as best as possible for now. The only engine codes I have are for the evap system.
I appreciate any ideas you all may have.
