just bought 16 x 7.5 wheels with a ET+34. i dont see any reason why they wont fit. does anyone have experience with this wheel on their celica? Also I cant find a realistic weight on this wheel either. shipping says 30 lbs but its all aluminum alloy. you would think it would weigh less than that...right???

Stock GTS aluminum alloy wheel weight is about 19lbs each/without tires. The 30lbs you mentioned, is probably the weight of your new wheels with tires. Each. And as a "Shipping Weight," which includes the box and any other packaging/cardboard/tie-wrap materials.

Some online wheel shops mark all 15" wheels/tires as one weight, and all 16" wheels/tires as a slightly higher weight, and all 17" wheels/tires as another slighter higher rate. Rather than weighing everything individually. Also, some shops just mark all purchases online as one weight. And even further, some shops ship out all "wheels" as one rate, and let their shipping company deal with the exact weights. This is also true for companies in other industries, such as DELL and HP, when they ship a "custom" desktop PC out to the end-user.

If you are feeling uncomfortable about your purchase, call up the shop and ask all your questions about the wheels to the shop manager. If the shop you purchased from doesnt know much about the wheels, call around to other shops that sell them. Ask as if you are "just shopping around and you had some questions before buying," even though you've already purchased a set.

Here is a site where you can get an idea of how they will look on your Celica:
http://www.autoanything.com/wheels-rims/vision-463-xcite-wheels

Their image overlay is a bit goofy, but the wheels do look good on the Celica. Nice buy!

yeah i saw the gts stock wheel weight being 19 lbs. the info you mentioned above did come up in the back of my mind though. thinking it could be packing and exaggerated numbers on their part. i did though go to that website to see them on the car yesterday. summit racing is selling them for 99$ each plus free shipping. thats a bargain. the only draw back is that they are on back order and wont ship out till the 31st. I will post pics of wheels on the car and the exact weight of the wheel upon arrival. i am hoping that the weight be at most 16 lbs.

the new wheels came in today. I weighed the wheel and at 16 x 7.5 et +22...... comes in 19.4 lbs vs stock gts wheel 16 x 6.5 et +39 19 lbs. So that's not to bad.

LOL - Because of your post, I also went ahead and also picked up a new set of wheels.

18in Focal F-05 [tirerack.com]
They were each marked as 49lbs shipping. The wheels themselves only being 22lbs, as listed online. UPS delivered 3 of the 4 wheels/tires to my address, and the 4th one to a company across town, even though it had my address on it. Spent an hour driving to pick up that last wheel.

Anyways, post some pictures of your new wheels when you get them on your Celica. And if you notice them affecting your acceleration/deceleration compared to your previous stock wheel/tires.

thats nice to hear that you got new wheels too. i googled the wheel you mentioned. did you get them in black or silver? ....49 lbs lol im glad that was exaggerated tho.. could you imagine that being exact wheel weight? 22 lbs isnt to bad. what kind of tires are you going to get? Im looking at tires as we speak. i have 205/50/r16 fierce instinct zr on the stock wheels. thinking about getting the Continental Extreme contact DWS 06 225/50ZR16 .

How your wheel shipment go messed up like that is a bit odd. and a lil ridiculous. plus you had to drive out of your way to get the 4th wheel...smh I am waiting on a few other parts to come in before i put the new wheels on. I got wagner thermo quiet front pads, and russell braided brake lines front and rear. I figured why not get it all done at once.

I went with the black, since the car they are going on is white. The previous wheels were gunmetal. As for the tires, I have always been happy with Kumho Ecsta. They last for about 25k - 35k miles. With my driving of that car, its been about every 4 or 5 years since 2002. $550 to replace/install the whole set at a time.

http://www.Tires.com aka http://www.DiscountTire.com aka "America's Tire" has been my go-to place for picking up tires. Installation is included in the price. Free wheel rotations every 6 months. Free fixes for flats and slow leaks.

white car with black wheels is a good color contrast. i had kumho ecsta on my honda prelude before i got my celica. i kept up with its current tire for the side wall. it helps protect the wheel from curb damage. the nearest discount tire to me is a 17 min drive. i will have to keep them in mind if they have to tire im looking at in stock.

i got the wagner thermo quiet brake pads installed today. they are a great addition to my slotted ABT 2 slotted rotors. But unfortunately i didnt get the russell brake lines installed. the 250$ labor price tag at the garage was a bit to much. i have already spent 1000$ + for new rims, tires, lugs, hub centric rings, and brake pads. Doing it myself is an option but that will be later on. I will post pics of the install too.

The Goodyear - Eagle Sport All-Season 225/50r16 come in weighing 21.6 pounds. Tire rack advertised 20 lbs. so wheels and tires together will be 41 lbs. which is the same weigh i started with on stock gts wheels and Dunlop Fierce Instinct 205/50/r16.
