Hi, could anyone send me a photo of some kind of catalogue or something that proves that the Tsunami Kit is from Toyota originally? Or does anyone know where I could get it? t.i.a.

Hey, welcome. While I can't offer you Toyota literature to show the Tsunami kit is OEM, here is an old thread discussing how the kit was available dealers in Canada: https://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=355663Considering initial availability, these kits are getting harder and harder to find. I will look around and see what I can come up with though. -Connor

Thanks, I just need proof that it's OEM for the parts to be street legal. Everyone seems to know it's OEM, I just can't ever find any proof.

Street legal? I see you're from Germany, is the body kit an issue there?

As Connor mentioned, we dont really have anything "street legal" about body kits in North America and most other locations. The issue arises with equipment violations. Basically when safety features are missing, not functioning correctly, or are blocked (such as window tint and stickers on windows in front of the driver). The same goes for vehicle identification such as tags, id plates, and vehicle color (chameleon paint is not legal but whole car wraps are. lol). A quick list of common equipment violations as related to California can be found at: https://celicahobby.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/25623/chp-most-common-equipment-violations.htmlAs for "needing proof that it's OEM for the parts to be street legal," thats the first time I've ever heard of it.

Well, in Germany, every part you equip to your car needs a permit (it must have been tested for properties such as aerodynamics and the material's behavior in case of a crash). The guy from the TÃœV-office told me, though, that I don't need that kind of permit if I can prove that the part is OEM.

Hmm, that's totally new on me Thanks for the quick reply. I'd still request a second source for that information. Especially since body kits are just bumper covers. Your actual bumper (and body-frame) is behind the polyurethane or fiberglass body kit pieces. genuine oem or not.

The Germans are pretty strict on stuff like that. I just looked it up again just to be sure and the website says that bumpers need a parts-permit. Also many forums suggest to get a permit for the parts, or else they would be illegal... so my search for a Toyota catalogue of the Tsunami kit goes on

What the heck is a Tsunami Edition. I live in Canada and have never heard of it. I know we have the TRD Edition because I own one. I also know we have the Panasonic Edition because I have that too. I spoke with a buddy at Toyota and he never heard of them either.
Anyone else have one? Toyota says I have 1 of only 16 TRD GT's ever sold in Canada with the Panasonic Edition.

It was some kind of special edition, as far as I know they renamed it soon after some Tsunami disasters in Japan. Google it, the body kit is really special and cool looking.

Between your two issues of finding a Tsunami kit and proving it is OEM, I think the more difficult of the two will be actually finding the kit.
So I would just say go ahead and buy the kit if you find it. It'll have Toyota stamps and part numbers on it and that should be sufficient enough in proving it is OEM. Just having the kit in hand proves it is OEM, ya know?

I'm looking to buy a replica, so I'd like to have that information before i buy it (I was told it works with the replica, too). Anyways, I found the original parts number, which is enough to prove it (PZ321-20007). I'm hereby closing this thread. Thanks for your answers, though.
