Uh oh, transmission problems.

Recently purchased my car from a sketchy dude and I just came back from a mechanic to diagnose the noises my car has been making.

The mechanic told me that I have two options, do a rebuild and change the bearings or replace the transmission. Now, I want to do both of those by myself. I understand I am liable for all problems I create.

What I'm trying to figure out, is how can I find all the parts that I need to perform my own rebuild? I've looked through eBay but I don't know everything that I'd need to replace.

Looks like I'll be going with a rebuild kit and while I have the transmission open, inspect the gears for any wear/damage and replace them as needed.

How's this going for you?? I think I'll need to get a new transmission too.
