Celica Forums General Discussion Interior TDS Keyless Entry

I just bought a 2003 Celica GT and it did not come with a keyless entry remote. I believe I have a valet button. The glove box had some guide for a TDS system however it didn't have any identifying information. I am completely lost when it comes to electrical stuff like this but I would like to see if I could get a remote for my car. I haven't found another post that was helpful to me yet. Please can anyone explain how I could go about identifying the system and selecting the right remote and syncing it to the car? I don't know if the system is even hooked up correctly in the car. Is there a way to check. Sorry If I'm behind the curve on this. Thank you for any help.

If your remote doesnt look like the one in the illustration, you may have an aftermarket alarm system. Either visit your local Toyota Dealership to see if they can make a photocopy of that alarm system for you (if its a Toyota system) or visit a reputable stereo shop to see if they can look it up in their system and find more details on it for you.

Yeah it's not that remote. It's a TDS system. Remote looks like this one. https://www.toyoheadquarters.com/threads/toyota-tds-remote-programming.515/ But I don't have a remote. I only know what it looked like from a little quick guide card I found in the glove box. I believe this is an aftermarket dealer installed keyless entry system? I don't know anything about the electronics of these things. I don't even know where the receiver would be at.
