We are restoring a 1976 GT Coupè. At some point in it’s history the original 20R engine was swapped out for a 21R-U.

We are hoping to rebuild the original 20R and put it back in service.

We have 2 carbs as well:
we have a 38012 - recently rebuilt
we have a 37020 - needs to be rebuilt

The questions - can anyone tell us which is the correct carb for the 20R? Will either work? If so, what is the difference and any mods we would need to make?

We would prefer to use the 38012.

Our ‘76 GT was Paul’s 1st car. He bought it new and kept it until his death in Sept ‘is 19. He was my friend, my cousin‘s husband and an Army Lt. Col. Ret. (22 years). We are restoring it in his memory and for his service to our country. 🇺🇸
