Hi!

We have a strange question, but it is one that came up on another forum many years ago. We just bought a 1995 Celica with 94,000 miles on it. We have discovered in the past week while driving it every day, the odometer is reading in kilometers. This has been verified by the fact that I drive 41 miles one way to work everyday and the odometer is showing I'm driving 64 miles a day. The number of miles is off by exactly by what the kilometers are. Anyway, on this old post that we found, some people have found that there is a resistor somewhere on the speedometer cluster board that randomly burns out and when it does, the odometer goes from reading miles to reading kilometers. Unfortunately, the person who actually found the resistor and fixed it, is no longer part of the board. It apparently does not happen all the time, just random cars here and there. Has anyone on this board had that happen? If so, how do you fix it?

Thanks!

Dave
