Hello Everyone, I have a 2002 Celica GTS,240,000 miles, Automatic, that is completely stock.
A week ago, September 25,2020, I was driving my Celica and all of a sudden the car started bucking, lost power and shut off, and I had to have it towed home so that I could attempt to diagnose the problem.
The car has a Good Battery, and I replaced the Alternator, Air Filter, Thermostat, Antifreeze, and Serpentine Belt about 200 mils ago.
Once I got the car towed home, I tried to start the car, and it started right up, so I backed into my garage. However, I thought that perhaps the fuel pump might be starting to fail, so I decided to replaced it.
Things I have tried so far.
I charged the Battery Over Night.
I Replaced the Fuel Pump
I Replaced the Fuel Screen
I Replaced the Fuel Filter
I Replaced the Fuel Pump Regulator, that attaches to the top of the Fuel Pump Filter.
After replacing the above items, the car started right up, so I let it ideal in the garage. The car was idling smoothly while I cleaned up, and put my tolls away.
Unfortunately after about 20 minutes the car shut off and will no longer start.
If I spray starter fluid in the air intake, the car will start up and run for a couple of seconds. Therefore I do not believe the the problem is will the fuel injectors, battery, or alternator.
At this point I am at a loss, and could really use some help in figuring out this problem.
Thanks in advance
