My 2zz had some water sucked in through my ait intake and now it wont start. I check to see if there was any water in the cyclinders but there wasnt any. Any Suggestions? anything would help

Interesting. I’m new here, so I can’t really help. Back in the old days (LoL) before fuel injection, this would not have caused any trouble at all. For other non-start issues, you’d spray some Qucik Start (ether) down into the carb, and it would fire right up. I can’t really advise that for your 2zz because I’m still learning about what works and what doesn’t with my own Celica GT.

When you say it won’t start, can you be more specific? Is it cranking, but just won’t turn over? Is it trying to start? Sputtering?

Its cranking but not starting. after i went over the puddle i was able to start it but it would hold idle.

I’m somewhat limited here, but I don’t think water is a likely problem here. And your motor would definitely not be blown just because some water entered the intake. My advice is to start with the basic things first. Check all your vacuum lines. Then try and determine if it’s an air/fuel issue, or a spark issue.

Gavin, is it still not starting? How much water do you think it sucked in? I wouldn’t think it would be enough to cause hydrolock, but then I read a thread that seemed to suggest that it could be possible. Scary.

May be ignition components got wet.

Dry out all ignition components, cables, plugs, plugs' wells.
