Hello!

I am in need of advice.

I have a 2000 Celica GT-S with a 2zz engine M/T 6spd transmission with about 120,000 to 150,000 on engine plus miles (i got a swap with unknown mileage)

-brand new battery
-starter cranks strong
-replaced the spark plugs
-ignition coils have less than 10k miles on them
-replaced the fuel pump pre filter and tank filter
-the fuses and relays are good

thinking of replacing the
-crank shaft sensor
-cam shaft sensor

any advice would be appreciated!

What happened when you cranked it?

Did it crank at all?

Did engine catch on at least a few seconds?

What CELs show up?

Before throwing more money into the problem, may be better to tow to a good Toyota dealer , spend $100 for a good diagnostic. After the dealer identify all potential problem, you can trouble shoot one by one and fix them yourself.

before i started throwing money at it lol.

the car started strong for a brief moment then stalled out. I attempted to start the car again after the car stalled and it idled super rough. Idled rough under 1k rpm. I attempted to start again and it started just fine, enough to where i can move the car. After I moved the car it did not start since .

CELS that usually show up after i try to crank it for a few seconds is: P1300 CEL ignition circuit malfunction no1 and ignition circuit 4 CEL code. it threw an OCV valve open CEL code also

UPDATE:

installed camshaft sensor
installed crank shaft sensor

The car still cranks the serpentine belt still spins. does not want to start.

I am going to try install

Throttle position sensor next.
