My wife's 2002 Celica GT's body rusted out on the back side of the pinch weld behind the driver's side tire. Started bending and punched a hole in the rust when I went to jack it up yesterday.
I can raise it via the front central mounting point at home with a big hydraulic jack, but is there any point on the car someone can raise either front tire individually on the side of the road using the trunk scissor jack besides the pinch welds?
Would hate for my wife to get a flat and not be able to swap for the spare on the side of the road. She's too small to lift a full size jack out of her trunk and lift the whole front end in event of a flat tire so that's not an option.
Hi Tman, I had just the same problem on my 2001 Celica yesterday, in exactly the same place. I'm a bit concerned it might be a structural problem and will take it to my mechanic soon. Did you get any useful responses to your question?
