Hi all I have a question. I think I already know the answer but I would just like to make sure. I recently went from a 15 to a 16" rim. I know not that much of a difference but I got it for cheap. I want to know will this affect my spedometer reading or will it reconfigure itself to the correct speed. Please let me know whaty ou think.

unless you changed the overall size of the wheel and tire a lot, it will only be off by a little bit (probably about 2-3mph). but i could be totally wrong, so someone back me up. also, you could search for a wheel speedo calculator thingy and it will tell you how far off it is.

Yea that is kind of what I was thinking as well. I just didn't want to be a freaking retread whenever it came to this. Thanks for your reply though.

it wont be off by anyhting...if your that worried about it you can get someone with a diagnostic plug in to set your wheel size.

I'm not really worried about it I just thought that I might be off a little being a new size rim but thanks for the input though.

If your wheel and tire size (the combo) is larger or smaller than stock (24.1", I think) the your speed will read slower or faster than it should.

If you stick with the stock tire size for the 16" rim (20/50/16) you will only be off by 0.4% from your stock 15".

How much of an issue will that be? the speedo will only be off if the overall diameter of the wheel and tire is quite a bit bigger than stock. its really only a problem for things like hondas that have stock 15" wheels and then the ricer owner throws some bling bling 20s on. if you abosolutely have to know how far off it will make it be, sue the calculator on the link. it will set you straight http://www.mr2.com/FORMS/tire.html

Nice link silver. It states that i'm only off by like .9238479837% or some small number like that. But thanks for all the replies though. Bartiks

yeah that would mean that when the speedo says 60, you're really going like 61. you're fine...
