Celica Forums General Discussion General Coilovers for 7th Gen help!

So I've been looking online to find a set of coilovers to put on my 2005 Celica 140, as the stock suspension is in need of a replacement. I have seen the Tein Street Basis Z as a relatively cheap option, as I don't have loads to spend on a set. Has anyone had any experience with them as there aren't many reviews online. I am not bothered with a massive drop in ride height, just a little will do, and as long as they aren't too uncomfortable I'll be happy. Any help with the Tein's or any other relatively cheap options will be much appreciated. (UK based)

My thoughts are simple. I didn't want to spend a lot on parts for my two cars, that are really just for fun. I have a 2002 Celica GT and 2009 BMW 328I that I have MaxPeedingRods the 24 Click Damper Adjustable on both, they are about 260$ for a set of all 4. I have mine set to super tight. I run 19's on my BMW and 18's on my Celica and they work perfectly with no rubbing.

And yes I know they are cheap, but Tein's are going to cost you around 1000$ for the set, and I would rather put that money else where.

That was my thought, I'm not spending over £1000 on suspension for a car that I bought for £2000. In the end I went for the tein street basis z which were £500, but has been the mod that has been the most worth it so far. I wanted to drop it quite a lot but the ride is still alright, not perfect but never expected it to be, and wasn't too much of a pain to install. Love your car though, that kit is gorgeous I wish they weren't so expensive otherwise I'd definitely have one.

You could also get raceland coilovers. I've had them for about a year now they are good. They do get a lot of hate since they are cheaply built but I haven't encountered an issue with them so far and they are about $400. Just note that they don't go low to like a slammed look but they do get the job done to cover the wheel-to-fender gap
