I'm new to this site! yipee, anyways.
I recently got my Celica, stuck those L plates on and learned how to not stall! ( most of the time )
I know this question isn't the most Celica specific but I'm struggling with driving on roads I don't know ( my dad gives me directions ) he purposefully directs me towards stressful situations like roundabouts and I only find out once I see it coming up.

Is there anyway I can get better at driving on new roads? or to help keep the stress down so I don't make mistakes?
My dad suggested driving his car on the road first to learn it beforehand since he drives an automatic and it'd allow me to focus more on the road than on having to change gears but the pedal sensitivity is a lot different and I'm a little worried it might throw me off getting back into my car?

Thanks for any help! if my thread doesn't adhere to any rules then please lmk.

your dad is right, sorry i hate to break it to you! But driving a automatic at first is just easier and will help you learn the aspect of driving and controlling the car. Also driving the same roads to get use to them and then start branching out. Repetition is key, like anything we learn in life is about doing it over and over. Nobody is a master the first time.

After a month and you have it mastered, throw in the stick and you should be good.
