Sorry but one more question...yes about my '01 GT auto. wink

I'm on the verge of buying a torque converter and I can get a transmission oil cooler with it (from an individual seller). Will the cooler do anything?

Also, one of the trans shops recommended I install a shift kit. Is there a shift kit for my car?

Thanks to everyone for your advice. Most everyone has been very supportive and I'm actually putting your advice into action! thumbsup

to answer your question the cooler will cool the tranny oil when you will power brake, holding the brake as you push the acclerator will heat up the oil fast due to the fact that the wheels are not turning, the oil cooler will cool that iol after that. and about the shift kit i don't think there is one for the GT there is one fot the GTS but only two were made, it was made by TBKO don't know if you can still get one, they just make the shifts more sharper so there's less powerloss.
