i have the aem cai in right now and hav ehad it in for a while but i have to take my car to the dealer for excessive ticking..also when you put it in 2nd gear it squeeks...i dont want the dealership to refuse warranty work on the valves because i kno that it was not my cai that caused the ticking(most dealers try to blame anything on any aftermarket part)..should i put my stock box back on..and does anyone know how long it takes to do?

Its your shifter linkage thats squeaking...Ive had to fix mine before...Just spray some White Lithium Grease on it...

What I used: White Lithium Grease [valvoline.com]

Here is picture of where this is. I got this from Nezumi at celica.net...If your standing facing your engine, it'll be on the right side directly back from the air box. Near the side of the block/tranny. Its brass colored so you cant miss it...

they should cover it no matter what if the intake is certified BUT we all know they try not to so I'd say put it back on just in case never hurts to error on the side of caution!!!

Don't you have to cut your wheel well plastics when you install a CAI? confused

It seems like they would see this and know that the car had a CAI on it at one time or another, which would make installing the stock air box a waste of time.

I'm not saying for sure that the dealership would know, I'm just throwing this out there for consideration. I have a short ram on my car, so I don't even know how noticeable the hole is. spineyes

mine slid through just fine no cutting needed...and the part you would need to cut isnt visable until you take the front bumper off anyway
