Ok so I took my car in just about 2 hrs ago and the service guy already called me back saying he couldnt duplicate the noises..what do i do? usually the ticking happens the worst when i have been driving a lot or after hitting lift..and the squeeking usually happens any time you shift to 2nd gear..I know that Heather told me that could be the shift linkage and thats cool but the ticking is really bothering me..its a new car with like 10,000 miles on it..it shouldnt sound like a ragged out honda...i didnt drive the celi at all yesterday and it has be driven very little today..the guy said i could have the technician ride with me but i dont think it will make that much noise if i havent been driving around that much..it ticks at idle but all 4 cyl tick some i have heard but this is bad..what do you suggest?

hmm... my car was squeeking a week ago... its got 11000 miles on it now..
and all i did was grease up the shift linkage with lithium grease. it went away.
i dont know about the ticking though, you should tell them that it happens after the car's been driven awhile.

Drive around and hit lift a bunch of times, THEN go to the dealer.

Mine does the same thing, and is getting worse.

I'll have to take it up with my mechanic, because Toyota DARCARs can't fix anything worth two shits, and they tried to tell me the sound was "normal" when it didn't do it until about 3K miles ago.
