Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Radar Hardwire Install?

Does anyone have this; if so please post . There is a install page on teamcelica.com but it's a broken link...

this is one of the easyist things to do, it takes roughly 10 min

1)take of the dome light cover by undoing that screw
2)take out the fixture by undoing the other screw (you'll see it)
3)dissconnect the power cord thingy so you dont blow ur fuse, i did that like 3 times
4)find the power wire for the dome light, then connect the power wire from the radar detector to it, then find a ground for the other wire, the silver thing ull see works nicely, just make sure it's not the one for the dome light
5)then put it all back in reverse and voila, mount it where you like and ur done

sqwigy - thanks for the help...btw where can I get a power cord for my radar (you know how the cords that come with the radar usually attaches to the cigarette lighter) that splits so that I can ground the ground and connect the power to the power. I hope that makes sense...

I went to radioshack and picked up a universal cord with an adapter to fit my current radar detector. The advantage is that if I change radar I don't have to redo the wiring. I just change the adapter. Plus I still have the other cord in case I want to use my detector in another car.
