I have all JL audio in my Celica: 1 JL Audio 12W7, 2 sets of 5 1/4 mids and 1" tweeters, 1000/1, and a 300/2. My head unit is a Panasonic DVD player.

Pioneer DEH-P7500MP Head Unit
(4) Pioneer TS-A1680R 6.5" Speakers (along with factory tweeters, all 4 have bass blockers on them).
(1) Pioneer GM-X375 400 watt amp powering the 4 6.5" speakers
(2) Pioneer Premier TS-W5000SPL 12" Subs
(1) Kicker KX600.1 Amplifier Powering the 2 12" in parallel.
Haven't done any dB drags yet since I finally got the rest of the system a few days back. I had an older Kicker amp powering the 2 subs before and they totally rocked out. Even without the amp on the 4 6.5"s the system bumped. Need any help with any sort of installation, I'll help you out with pics and such man. Later.

Here is a system I find would bring awesome sound quality and even stand up to the best in comp...
Head Unit - Clarion DZ835MP (unless you want a screen)
Front Speakers - MB Quarts 6 1/2 inch 2-way speakers , with 1 inch tweeter.
Rear Speakers - MB Quarts 6 1/2 inch 3-way speakers
Subwoofers - 2 JL Audio 10W6V2's with correct enclosure
Amps - JL Audio 1000x1 for Subs & JL Audio 400x4 for High's

Mine was 1699, but I had to pay for the install since I bought it in the dead of winter while I was living in Wyoming. So total it was 2200. Kind of hurt with install.

Sony Cd mp3 deck with lcd Sony components, amped 2 Sony 800 watt mono amps pushin: 2 12 inch sony subs and 2: 1 farad caps all run with 2 gauge wire  and a partridge in a pear tree

Gah I hate all of you guys. Because of my stupid second occupation (bowling tournaments for $$$), I have to have enough room for four balls in my trunk. Sort of limited my bass potential. Anyway, I have the factory JBL upgrade to start. Then added a Rockford 700S amp, and two 10" HE2 subs with a 1 farad capacitor. Sounds clean and bumps some, but I wish I had room for 12"s or bigger
