i honestly have no idea on what rice is. i here it a lot and think i get it, but then get thrown off by different sayings. i also wanted to know if anyone has a kazuma exhaust and how does it sound, is it too loud? suprastore.com says this, "A high quality exhaust from Toyota Racing Development's Kazuma line for the new Celica. Great fit, finish and the highest of quality. Sound quality is deep and LOUD. Not ricer "razzy" loud, but volume loud. " which leads me to what is RICE?????
you're wrong...the kazuma is a bolt on cat-back system. it bolts on at exactly the same point as any other exhaust... it doesnt have a cat on it because the cat isnt on that part of the exhaust system. the cat is more near the center of the car. the reasonator is about 2 ft behind the cat, which is more towards the rear "axle." here is a picture of where the kazuma exhaust bolts on

Nobody here knows nothing about this exaust... Here are the facts. IT WILL pass emissions laws in all 50 states. You do NOT remove the CAT. The CAT is what makes you 50 state emissions legal. YOU can BOLT it on with a FLANGE set up. If not YOU MUST cut the resonator and WELD then. You WILL be over 95dbs and that is ILLEGAL. You can help this by welding another resonator on, preferably one thats more of a glasspack(fiberglass) and/or use a silencer.
If you choose not it, it will be LOUD. You can get buy driving around at normal speeds with normal driving habbits without any problems. When you wail on it, you will wake up the whole world, and the cops will nab you from blocks away. If your smart and you dont wail in the worng places you will be just fine with the exhaust.
Remember, the Kazuma exhaust for the Celica is a RACE exhaust. Its for OFF-ROAD use only just like TRD headers for an AE86 The USDM TRD exhuast is street legal but that's a totally different story.

This is a great exhaust, I love it. Like I said you gotta use your head with it. During the day your fine with cops unless you wail on it in front of them. Now at night especially late if you goofing off with the exhaust your going to get nabbed on a noise ordinace ticket. My only caution to you is if your of age and you have been drinking and whatnot, this exhaust invites cops to pull you over. So please be very very responcable about that when your out.
Sup guys, well just to let everybody know i have the Kazuma exhuast. It has a cat, and requires that you cut the stock downpipe which contains the cat to weld the TRD kazuma exhaust on. It will pass smog, but not the 95db law. NOTE do not smash it under bridges if you guys every purchase the exhaust, i got pulled over once, but was given a warning .
another one back from the dead you got a sound clip? i listened to one (i think it was from this site, or maybe it was the regular TRD one) and it wasnt too clear

excellent post. im sure that you just answered a ton of questions.
rice- apointles mod that has no real gain in any way. Is really ugly, or is just a piece of shit. ex...aluminum wing, apc sticker, unpainted primered kit, huge gay wing ect...
our definition of rice used here is a little different. over here we use the term 'rice' for basically any modification that serves no real purpose except for visual purposes (good or bad), including things like body kits and drag spoilers etc. Yes i know some kits are aero dynamic etc etc but unless yew are a hardcore racer, its not gonna be that much of a factor. so yea basically anything thats visually modified but doesnt get used or serves no purpose is called rice around here.
that exhuast is hEllA Loud and i already got one ticket for a loud muffler but the dam car has no muffler. oh well the ticket is 44$.. and i just orderd a silencer form ebay took me freaking 3 weeks just to find one that is my size. But dude tat exhuast is loud if you need to listen to the radio when you drive dont get it... but all i do is open my window and listen to the sound of my car
its many differnt things, mostly the general idea behind it and there are differnt categories of rice.
The lowest being Rice Boy(thats me)= you drive an import and with your small saving or no saving you mod you car to the best of your ability thus getting you an exhaust system consisting of a disconnected stock muffler(note the backfiring)(or an exhaust tip), and intake system with all the parts found at your local home depot, neon underbody lights from wal-mart, every modification from wal-mart such as cyber eyes and lights that flash to the music...
Next up is ricer= ppl who actually have some money to spend compared to the rice boys, they buy real mods like injen intakes, exhaust systems, some interntals, a body kit, basically so it looks nice.
Rice god= you drive something like a supra, nsx, rx-7, or skyline and have to much money to spend on your car alone. You own everyone in your 1200hp single turbo supra at the tracks just cause you run a 9.05sec @150mph 1.4 mile. Everyone wished they were you. Your car also is in shows like HIN city.
I hope youre not serious. As far as I know the words rice and ricer are usually used to describe people that have no taste and no sense of what quality performance parts are. Last time I checked rice means huge aluminum wings, mismatched body kits, lights everywhere, and that god-awful sound of what in most cases is 2 factory exhaust piping going to a 5 tip. Ricers dont have a clue how to tune cars and give people who have common sense a bad name. Your making a huge mistake by trying to say that Skylines, RX-7s, and NSXs, in any way, can be rice. Obviously if you can afford to tune a Skyline you must have your head on straight. These people who have over $100k under the Kevlar hood of their R34 are professional tuners and deserve more respect than to coldly be called a ricer.
kazuma 14 hp from what i know! and you dont remove the cat, only the resonator. might get the 20 hp i see some people are claiming if you do remove the cat and found away to beat the second o2 sensor and the ecu!
HYBRID:resulting from the combination of two or more mechanically dissimilar origins! "...... code":every man is a shadow, let him be treated as such, until proven otherwise by a show of character or code!
Dude, maybe you need to search around a little bit. It's already been figured out how to fool the second O2 sensor. No need to fool the computer though, a simple diode and transistor, wired in line with the sensor,is all you need to fool that 2nd sensor not to throw a check engine light. Now removing the cat will not give enough gain, to even remove it unless you are turbo, or highly tuned, not to mention how bad it pollutes our world. Seriously, toyota's stock cat, is already pretty light and as non-restrictive as a high flow cat.
i don't know about you guys but in most places "rice" or "ricer" prety much means jap. car, it can be taken as good (if you have things like a trd exaust, and an injen intake), or bad (if you have a wing that is totally out of place, just a muffler tip, graphics that are way to loud) and is pretty much all about opinion.

I love that too, I thought I was the only one who did that( in my mom's malibu ) I love listening to the engine at 4000rpms.
I have the kazuma. It doesnt have a cat,you cut it off right after the cat. Yes its loud but i love it I wouldnt have anything else. I have been told I have the nicest sounding car around. Its very intimidating, havent got pulled over, passed cops goin fast never had a problem. just let up off it it and it will go a lot quieter. my brother has a hooked up honda and he always wants to drive it because of the sound. I LOVE IT!
Honda's are like the special Olympics, even if you win you're still retarded.
according to turbo magazine..the kazuma exhaust gives you essentially 6 extra horses to play with. thats more than any aftermarket exhaust as of yet for the celica.
no exhaust gives you even near 20 horses. no way, no how.
