the link says "VVTI Celica", that would mean, GT right... http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/unichip/dyno/toyota/celica.htmlI'm skeptical about the date listed on that dyno as well - 2001 is a few years ago

VVTI means GT indeed. I saw the date too, but like I said before what we (dutch people) call 'chiptuning' is done for a few years here already. However reading all posts about it not begin possible I got sceptical too. If I'm gonna do this I will ask for a guarantee. So no gains, no pay. I haven't made up my mind about putting in a turbo

Oh, one more thing The entire 'unichip' is made for each car seperately. Your car will be put on a dyno and done specifically for your car. Someone posted www.cth.be [ cth.be], they don't do that. just like www.autotechnics.be. [ autotechnics.be.] They all put in some generic chip for a celica

http://www.dastek.co.za/they have even more info THAT, IF WITHIN THREE MONTHS A CUSTOMER IS NOT FULLY SATISFIED WITH HIS UNICHIP, TO ENSURE THE JOB WAS DONE PROPERLY AND IF NOT, TO SEE TO IT THAT IT GETS PROPERLY DONE. IF THE JOB WAS CORRECTLY DONE AND THE CUSTOMER IS STILL NOT SATISFIED TO PROMPTLY REMOVE THE UNIT AND REFUND HIM THE FULL AMOUNT INCLUDING INSTALLATION AND MAPPING FEE

btw...the dyno chart seems like a VVTL-i engine rpm... I wondered that too, they state VVTI though. I don't really know how a dynomometer works if you let go of the gas. Maybe it keeps measuring when you let go of the gas. If it were a GTS I'd expect it to keep going up until redline, not sure though

if they stated VVTi and that is a VVTL-i engine..then i would consider that they dont even know wut they are doing..and doubt their chip works~

Maybe they raised the redline? If it is indeed a VVTL-I engine they need a lot to convince me indeed
They state if I'm not happy with it in the first three months, they remove it and I get my money back.
This might be a good thing to do when the paycheck comes in. I mailed the dutch supplier with some questions. I'll let you know the answers

please do keep us posted man~ but it you look at the 6000rpm mark on the dyno, i think that jump is where the Lift kicks in..i dont think VVT-i engine can do that... and the VVT-i dyno is very smooth hill~ like going up with out a suddent jump~ those are my thoughts~

Maximum power is about 105Kw, which equals about 140 hp. That would be a GT I suppose. I mailed them

From what I've read in message forums, VVTi engine outside of USA and CANADA puts down more power because there are less regulations regarding smog/pollutions - meaning, more power can be pushed out of the engines with less effort
ie; each STOCK VVTi/VVTLi outside of USA & CANADA are putting down 10hp more than those inside USA & CANADA.
please correct me if I'm wrong...

please correct me if I'm wrong... Yes, euro celica VVTI puts down 143 hp (3 more than us), 170 Nm (!) torque euro VVTL-I puts down 192 hp (12 more than us), 180 Nm (!) torque I believe indeed the gains are possible due to smog/pollutions regulations and maybe the fact euro gas has at least 95 octane. I don't know if that would gain though

Costs are 695 euro, which would equal about 800 usd. Need to leave the car there for two days.
Installation and tuning takes about 4 hours. Atercare and checking they do the next day.
He says putting in headers will gain extra (on op the 'standard' gain for headers)

i think its probably only a local type of thing...don't think they would recommend you ship your car oversees for a new chip...plus those dyno charts look hella shakey...one would say it looks like vvtl-i but look at the numbers it's getting...it looks like GT numbers, although i have to admit i thought GT's got more to the ground than that...?
Not just another girl's car...

GT can be chipped. AND THE GTS CAN BE CHIPPED CTH [ cth.be] And then there are some piggy back fuel computers like the HKS F con S, ... I'm sorry, but CTH isn't that great, they just install a powerbox. They don't even use a dynomometer for checking th gains, that sucks bigtime. www.ringsleutel.nl [ ringsleutel.nl] does the tuning on a dyno

that is weird... the RPM's seem high for GT but the whp to the left is about right for a GT right?
idk though, Toyota's ECU's are crazy.

idk though, Toyota's ECU's are crazy. Yeah, I don't completely understand indeed. It looks like a GTS dyno, considering the 'boost' at the 6000 rpm-area. I just mailed suprastore about hotshots headers. Probably gonna stay NA and have it tuned. If I'm not happy I get my cash back

that looks like a gt without the rev limiter. Anyways, that dyno is over 2 1/2 years old. It's definately outdated.

It is very unclear indeed.
I'm planning on hotshots headers, then having unichip put in. I'll post dyno's then

They probably mistaken VVT-i for VVTL-i because that looks like a GTS powerband. Power spike at 6000 RPM and power cut off at 8200.
