I am building a custom Celica gts and plan on making it as fast as possable w/out engine swap which i will do if i can't get enough power from the stock one.

which will give more horsepower and leave room for more mods, a supercharger or turbo. and which brand is the best.

i heard XS is awsome but someone else said because of the vvtl-i the blitz supercharger will give more power and torqe, is that true.

i have a custom 6 speed tranny being built right now and will have a custom rwd drivtrain built later

I am also going to have a NX n-tercooler setup plus the veilside 2 kit.

oh yeah and if anyone has any suggestions on other high hp mods let me know

and you need to know this will be for racing and show
will not be a daily driver but i would like to be able to drive it on the street LEAGALLY if possable but i don't have to
(Money is no object but i don't want to waste it)

umm when you change it to rwd, get a supra engine. or you can get the tacoma 2.4 engine, was in a celi converted to rwd, it made 1,000 hp, and obviously a drag car

if you want to do a motorswap and go with big hp, get the 3s-gte or turbo charge a BEAMS 3S-GE. if you want AWD or RWD, you better have a fat wallet.

i have some ideas for engine swaps, one includes putting a s2000 engine in, my friend can do it it would just take a while and quite a few engine compartment mods as well as moving some things to the trunk.

but the whole point of this post was to see what i can do with a stock engine.

labor on the install and tuning is free for me because my best freind works at the toyota dealer and can do it, thats who will put in my drivetrain, we are going to try to find an interchageable rwd to awd that would fit w/out to much modification.

Why a S2000 engine confused
It still has no turbo or S/C.
And it isn't that much faster than the 2zz
Go with the 3S GTE

light weight wheels - who makes really light but stylish rims i like both tenzo-r and konig but i don't know their weight
hood - Carbo fiber invader - it only weighs like 5-6lb i think
seats - Sparco evo - 15lb - plus i love the safty ratings and the way it fits for me
the system will be in the trunk but will be in a custom removable box
i am trying to go with the lightest things possible and that look good
let me know if you know of anything else
carbon fiber doors and trunk hatch would be nice

and the s2000 engine because it has the most power of any other engine of the same size - 120hp per liter plus i can get new honda engins pretty cheap, and you can put a turbo on it with about 14 - 16 psi with some internals and that new carbon fiber intake manifold they they are coming out with(4.5lb - thats over 10lb under stock plus it absorbs 87% less power-robbing heat than stock and is actually good up to 40 psi.)

with a lot of work it is, but all it will cost me is the cost of the engine at price the dealership pays (Connections)

all labor for any install is free for all trd stuff i get free warranty but toyota can't warranty othe parts. but i can gat a warranty on the s2000 engine as well.

like i said, my best friend works at the toyota place and i have friend that works at the honda place that can get me dealer prices on any honda part or car thats how i got my s2000 i already own

it is all about who you know

and the reason i want a celica is because i like the look, shape, and size better than anything on the market right now well in the under $100,000 market any way, (ferariis are nice just to much $$$ and i think it is kind of a waste, plus all the fun is fixing it up just so i can say i built that ME!

Sounds like you are wasting your money right now. I don't think you can make the 2zz rwd. Therefore the money you are spending on the tranny and turbo is going to waste if you convert to rwd. Think about it, you need a motor and a tranny built for rwd applications. So if you really want the power and the rwd, you need to do a motor swap and then go from there. the 3sg-te has got some major potential in it, along with any other motor. But I don't think you can make the 2zz rwd. This is just theory in my head, whether its true or not, I don't konw...but doesn't it make sense?

seems like a mission to me. If you want power then you will definatly need an engine swap. Even if you do mod it a lot and have connections the 1.8 engine can only go so far. and making it rwd or awd sounds pretty impossible to me. but who knows i hope that you prove me wrong

that is a solid point about the engine i wasn't sure about that
but i'm not wasting money because the tranny is being built for a rwd and how many times do i have to say it I DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT my freind is creating the tranny from and old supra tranny that was at the dealership but nobody claimed it he is making it for free and i don't have to pay for any parts

i will have to check out the 3gs-te how much would one run $ wise and what kind of hp does it put out

i heard of some one putting a awd matrix dt on a celica and all i have ever seen a awd - rwd interchangable dt is on a truck or atv so i'm not sure if it possable, if any one knows pleas let me know

if your getting all this custom stuff done, why not jsut do a custom rebuild of the whole engine, all the internals, and do a custom turbo, then youll be able to run at higher PSI, you are already getting a custom tranny, why not jsut do a complete custom engine job and then it will be street legal hopefully grin!

def. the best idea if you want to stick with the 2zz...i personally will probably swap to the 3zz, but i'm still debating to rebuild the engine w/turbo...

it would be easier, becasue the eingine fits in your car, so that means no engine mounts have to be changed, the gts engine is configured to a 6 spd so the tranny might be alrite and personally i would feel a lot better knowing that this is the engine i started out with, knowing it came from a dealer in my car rather then so one oyu pick up on ebay or a registered engine dealer, because you dont know what could have beeen done to it previous

and as for the tranny he has most of it built but hasn't configured it yet until i have an engine and drive train so gear ratios won't be decided until we know how much hp the engine will have

oh and it has been decided that turbo is best for the highest hp gains right?

how much hp is possable with the 3zz stroker kit, a xs turbo, and other mods like lightweight flywheel and things like that, and also wouldn't lift play a role, lift is still there in the 3zz right confused

You should ask the producer. No one on the boards has the XS kit and stroker kit YET.

As for lift with the stroker kit, yes I believe you still have lift. All you do is change the pistons, rods, rings, crank and flywheel.

Well the stroker kit might give you better low end and mid-range torque but it will increase piston speed due to the longer stroke, which is a bad thing with a high revving engine. The redline might have to come down a bit if the entire engine isn't balanced and blueprinted. And no matter what custom internals you get, how much HP can the stock BLOCK handle?? Take that into consideration before you purchase the kit. thumbsup

BTW, does anybody know if the 2zz-ge block is open or closed deck design??

I used to dream of stuff like that when I was in high school too wtf Whats the point? The rear wheel conversion is going to cost more than the rest of the project put together thumbsdown

thanx for that info i havn't considered that is there any way to reinforce the block and let it handle higher revs

and i have ruled out rear wheel drive because some people told me that it is a lot heavier and dosn't have as fast of a take off, but i am going to try to find a matrix awd and put that on there cuzi have heard of that being done

You mean you want to be able to control lift? Lowering lift engagement actually makes you loose hp and tq if I'm correct.

You can raise the rev limiter though. You can raise it to like 8600 to land lift easier in 2nd. 3rd and 4th you'll just have to shift at 8300 because landing lift in there is easy.

One other thing, check your lift bolts boys.

thanx fo that info i am doing a lot of research about the time and not finding much on what i heard. by the way i heard this from a Dealer!

and PLEASE excuse me if i'm wrong but i think this guy needs a new job. he told me that awd means that all 4 wheels are rotating and all 4 wheels turn in the direction of the steering wheel- here is how he described it

All wheel drive means all 4 wheels are powered by the transmission.

You're thinking off 4 wheel steering or something. the twin turbo 300zx coomes with that, but supposedly it hurts cornering rather than helping it.
