Alright, I just came into a large sum of money, and I was wondering, is it possible to swap out the GT engine with the WRX STI engine, would it fit? if so, where can I find JUST the engine?
I know, but the thing is I want to do something noone's attempted before, something new, something WOW! you know? I just wanted to know if the fitment would work, and where I could snag the engine from w/o having to buy an sti, lol
Just a suggestion - If you really have come into some money I would love to see a full n.a. build on a gt engine. Rods, pistons, valve job, head work, maybe bore it out a little - the full ride. Really get everything you can out of that engine. Nobody (that I know of) has done that yet, and I think the end result would be much more reliable than any swap.
you'd need to swap the engine, tranny and drivetrain.
Good luck doing that for less than $20,000
i have to agree. plus the reliablity factor should come into play...you might be better off just getting a faster car and doing less ambitious mods.
that said, if it is possible to put an sti engine in the celica and you actually pull it off with good results: the outcome would be nothing less than outstanding
That's actually not a smart idea because then you'd probably loose any ability to drive that sucker daily or even not at all on the streets. Think realistically, think 3S-GTE.
ok. why dont you put a 2JZ-GTE engine in. no car will be able to touch you and i dont think that anyone has done that.
no support for the supra tt engine? ok, i see how it is
Well wouldn't that be too big to fit under the hood? If I'm correct, it's gonna cost quite a bit of cash to make it fit plus a possible tranny swap...
oh its possible. on a tv show a guy put a viper v10 into a old school charger. given he had to move the entire dash back 6", but if he can do that then you could fit a supra powerplant into a celi. never said it would be cheap. but its still more practicle than an sti engine
a kid told me that celicas handle like crap... i laughed
