I would like to know if you are interested on lambo door conversation kit under 1000$.
If you are, we would try to develop one in jan(and start a GB) wich would be an autolift type, not a pull up. Also the movement of the door would be more exact than on other kits.
Looking for your comments

Should post this in the Buy/Sell section, but it sounds like a good deal especially since it's automatic door. I'd be interested but I've got no cash

if its good quality and can be sold for 1K or less...i'm definately game! thumbsup

how do you plan to do this though? the decah kit is a pull up and it runs about $1400. autoloc offers a universal kit (that i've heard sucks) that has autolift and it runs in the 3K range.

1. will this kit be universal, or stricly for celica
2. will it bolt directly onto the existing hinges? or will custom work need to be done?

Yeah it would be kool to have door poppers and have the doors automatically open without wobbling like the autoloc one. I'm in if it looks good.

Ok I`m starting in jan and wish to finish it as well in jan.
Any suggestion how you like the best is welcome.
Plan is: polished stainless steel, movement side and straight up, no side moves while going up, slow autolift, and hold in up position, easy force to pull down. Simple bolt on, no custom works.

Define slow. A second or seconds to go up?

It measns the spring will set just a bit stronger than the force that has to hold the door. Like 2 seconds? Will see.

i'm in if you can guarantee quality and relative easy installation. i like it the fact that it's going to be bolt on and will require no mods. well keep us all posted and if this turns out as you are saying it will, i will be getting one, hopefully by february after tax refund comes back. good luck. later!

Wow that'd be great! Newbie here btw wave I am def thinking about lambo doors and under 1k is a great price, esp for a custom bolt on with no mods!

Am I understanding correctly that you would do an auto up (about 2 seconds) but to close the door you have to do it manually? I heard about the 3k kits that do auto up and down but the down takes a long time and it's not practical if you're in a hurry (like I always am). Thanks! smile

i don't know where you guys are shopping for the autoloc kit but it's only 2.5k on therei website, and only 2K on nopi. not to mention if you install correctly it works perfectly, does have a little slow shutting time though, but on my friends he opens before he even parks and closes the as he's walking away (remote contolled)

DEF. sound interesting though, i'd be game, keep us posted

2.5 grand, plus professional installation because the kit is universal.

the official autoloc site says: "Please note this kit is universal and may require modifaction to make work on your vehicle. We recommend professional installation." some people have also complained of problems with this kit.

the decah kit, by comparison is $1400 and is a straight bolt on (you can do it yourself--no installation cost) and it is celica-spec, not universal. no problems with these doors have been reported..other than its a little awkward to open when inside of the car.

the doors are automatic on the autoloc kit though...thats nice thumbsup

actually, if you look on nopi.com they sell the kit for $2,037. and my friend istalled it on his celica him self, it took him about a day to do it, but i works perfectly and the only modification he had to do was roll the fenders, as with any kit. it works beutifully and he's had no problems.

^^ thats not too too bad thumbsup but i still think most people should take autolocs own advice and get it professionally installed unless they are mechanically inclined.

having it automatic is nice though...can you get some pics up of your friends car? it would be nice to see what the location of the doors are once fully opened (scissor vs. wing-like) thanks for any help with pics.

i'll try but i don't see him very often i'm going to try to catch up with him next wed. and stay until sat.

he lives in hattisburg, but travels a lot to destin, Fl
and he worked at a body shop for about 6 years or something like that and worked mainly on custom frabrication

i would also recemend profesional install, and i will admit the autoloc kit does have more complaints

i'm thinking either wait till soemthing better comes out or get a shop to customize one that works well

Hi guys, girls

Here are some news on the kit:
As I said we started to work out the prototype, and the firs structure is almost ready, it looks very promising. We had no difficulties yet, only one thing, that we recognised that its impossible to install the lambo kitt w/o turning the inside of the fender a bit back as it is needed on other kits as well.
If you want I can send some pics next week. BUT ONLY IF you notice this is the prototype. There are 2 more things missing from the structure, the `spring`( cos we only able to measure the force we need to set the spring when main structure is finished), and polish.
The structure is (as I said) made of stainless steel and will be polished for show results.

getting in and out? You mean you don't just STAY in it all the time? Besides a minor inconvinience of ducking and or manuevering out of the way of it is a small price to pay for looking totally pimp.

Good Luck with the VDC kit. I have have the decah/springmans modified on mine. I love them but hate them at the same time. It's hard to explain unless you have them.

I would be very interrested in seeing some pics of the protoype to get a feel for exactly what you are doing!!!!

Correct! We developed the turbokit, which is st1( simple bolt on) and st2 with recomended additional parts(with internal and other mods). St1 kit is going on the market from the 1st of febr as well. We have a great interest in europe, but I think we could go out the USA market.
Lambo door pics will be up next week as I said.
We also going to make high performance polished stainless steel headers for gt, polished ssteel intake manifold for boosted gt.
We are ready to make other parts as well, just give me the idea what to, and may can do it.

But I have them in my mind, will try to do something in febr but not before.

i am just wandering, if you have considered make it auto shut to,(and if you can't make it opperate via remote, most auto stereo shops can do that.), and one more question, i don't know how difficult it would be, but i have seen it done, could you make a kit that opens automaticly up and down, but stil opens OEM style too, i would be willing to pay extra if you could make this kit

Ok. Before someone missunderstands it the auto up means:
you push the door out horizontal ~20-30cm and then the door just lifts itself up. If you want to close it you have to pull it down with slight force and then just close it ( OUR back door work in this way). The Movement of the door is controlled by an `L` shape, but the corner of the L may will be rounded so an optional electric motor could be added later for remote controll. We will work on it as well, but just let us finish the basic kitt.

i won't be able to get it doe about 5 months anyways, but if you offer the kit you are describing, it has good reviews, good warrenty, and remote, iwill def. buy it.

is it possible to have oem style opening too, later on

I'm a rookie here but i just had to get in this $1k lambo kit group buy. I will buy this kit as long as it is:

*good quality
*bolt-on without any serious mods
*can be manually shut cause i'm mostly in a hurry
*option for remote-controlled lift (low priority)

if this kit can be shipped to me before April. i'm in! thumbsup

thnx,
tony

Do you want to get our st1 turbo kitt or other?
If so what do you know about it?

Currently a few is in production for european st2 orders, but we can add one more. Also sorry but think that you cant have it in your hands at the 1st of febr, but till the middle yes. Also dollar is doing very bad, we just try to keep it at 3000$.

off topic:^^haha, well the dollar did go up .0054 yesterday rofl we now can get .7 something euro for $1...which kinda sux because we used to be able to get like 1.1 euro for $1. but anyway...

the bad dollar is actually good for us in terms of exporting. because are prices are cheaper, we are able to sell more to other countries which is what we are trying to do (our import-to-export ratio has been considerred far high than what we would like) the weakening of the dollar is actually helping us out...our firms are producing more which helps promote growth.

but in any case it doesnt help with importing so prices will be inflated when we buy from countries (such as hungary). but this is an incentive to buy domestic, which helps us out even more.

true the dollar is doing 'bad', but its actually not too much wrong with it. (except for the people who want to buy your turbo!)

this incrased buying of domestic products will eventually lead to an increased value of the dollar...and so the cycle continues.

ok, i'm done..i'll shutup.

All true!
Thats why I`m buying my susp and brake kit now. I can save $s. Previously our national money was related to dollar, but now cos of we are to join the EU its set to relate with the euro. Actually I was wrong when I meant that we try to keep this price, cos its ok now. I just hope in this hand the $ will not drop much anymore related to euro. But just imagine like ~2 years ago $ costed us 1,5 times more then now, you could have been able to get the kit for 2000$!!( its a shame we did not have a kit that time). Man I think you would love that! smile

Ok as far we are:

The first prototype of the frame is ready, and now we could measure what spring we need for autolift the door.

Sorry for the dirty pics, but theese are not the pics of a final product!! Also the frame is not polished and optimized.
We are planing to have the ready product the end of this month latest. No spring yet.

there's way's to do it.and hope fully your body man shouldn't have to much of a broblem with it. so if you look at the car from the driver side.you see where the the closest side of the door meets the front fender.i'll have them cut the side skirt straight down so that, that part of the skirt becomes part of the front fender.so the fender can be removed with the least anount of damage to the car.then that part of the skirt becomes part of the fender.then after the kit is installed.they can put the fender back on and all the have to do is mold that small area back together.then color blend that area.hope fully it won't cost that much.tell me what you think thumbsdown or thumbsup

you should have made so you can take off the bumper and fenders together, that would look cool coming off, but i doubt you could do it now without a lot of work done

I am totally in!!! Sounds good and with my financial aide and tax return in, it is a total reality!!! I love school. Who said school doesn't pay? Just in the past couple of days I've ordered my carbon fiber hood, intake, and cat-back. But anyways, back to the point of this topic.. like everyone has said, if there is a warranty and if it also a bolt on, definately count me in! And all these people that want an auto down option, U all need to quit asking for one! Just a bunch of lazy a**es. With the price being under a grand, really can't ask for more.

Hy everybody!

I just want to let you know that we still working on it. The first frame of the structure was ready when I posted the pictures, but I have to say we are not at the end. It was easy to make the kit as other companies, but its not easy to make it rigid. As you know I want the doors to move as less shake as possible, and I`m still not happy with it. So we are trying to solve the problem, but that may take some time. Actually we are keeping the plan. We want to finish the prototype in jan and start the sales or a GB in febr.

So theese are the news, rather good or bad. wink
I will inform you soon again.

Ok. So prototype is ready. We are waiting for the right gas springs. The current one is undersized, so it would not lift the door. I`m promised that they are ready begining of next week.

The frame is raf now, as a prototype, so we make now the final look untill the springs arrive.

The frame is made off stainless steel, but it seems that we have to change some part for carbon steel, cos the stainless is too soft. That part would be unvisible but powdercoated. the arm would stay stainless steel.
here are some vids:

Yes you have to remove the fenders by installing the lamboo door.
Actually we are ready and will post vids next week about the final product.
It works great! Someone could help me and start a GB on the doors, cos as the unit price is 1000$, we could make it much cheaper if there is serious amount like 10-20 buyers.

I'm going to have to wait till my tax return comes in, so it will be a month or so for me before I can purchase. Sweet deal on shipping, by the way.

I'd be interested in a set. I'm not sure what do you mean by roll the fender. Under 1k is a steal.

the is a little piece of metal that runs along the inside or the febder perpendiculer, the lambo hinges can't fit unless you "roll" them towards the front of the car. thia is something you have to do with any kit

c2gas let me ask you a question hopefuly you can give me an answer i finaly got my computer to play the videos by the way you did a great job but one think got me thinking when the doors are up how come the shake? and first you open the door from right to left then down to up right woudent that cause the door not to be stable when its up??? i mean if the door is up and there is a strong wind will the door start moving from side to side??

The kit has an `L` shape movement, it means movements are not mixed, one time only one move is possible. Only when you are at the corner of the `L` can go both way.

Hy PPL!
Thx for all your comments, and thx to saspence22 starting to count interested ppl.
I`m posting now 3 more vids, but I really have to appologise you ppl cos we will have a delay. Th delay cosed of a wrong order on gas springs, it means currently we don`t have the right spring for autolift. And we really have to have a correct measured spring before we order 20 pairs for your kits. The problem is that theese springs are custom made and our suplier only pruduce them in two weeks, so we have to wait that f..g 2 weeks for f..g springs.
So here are som vids may tell you more what I mean and to see where we are.

yes cos it just drops now.The spring does not hold now. Also we will have to use some soft damper to prevent metal to metal conection.
We can just not finish it w/o the right springs. Every detail changes if there is an other force.
I`m very said about this now but such is life.

^^ yes please answer those, also, would you consider adding a remote opener option? I don't know if you can do this, but I would be willing to pay the extra amount to have so I dont have to go throught that process because this is going to be my daily driver confused Just a thought

At the moment we dont have plans to have remote open on the kit. But later if we have done the GB we may start to think how to add a remote opener if there is enough onterest.

Update:
We started the production anyway for the first 15 ppl. But production did not seem to be a problem. This F..ng shipping time kills me. I try to do something every day, but just decided not to wait untill they arrive and start production on my own risk.
By the time now I`m in the middle of a st2 Turbo project and will finish tomorrow, then I will have more time to look after the lamboos.

yea gas i don't understand wut the deal with shipping is man? this courier service really sucks. i can't wait to get my kit but i hope you switch up the shipping companies, man! also i was wondering if you have the videos with the final kit, you know the one with the heavy shocks. because i want to see exactly how the door automatically goes up due to the shock. I have been anticipating the final vids and the kit itself for a while so if you can just post the final video then that will relieve some of the anxiety, you know!! thnx and keep us posted, plz!

ok guys we going to have here an American costumer next week for a st2 Turbo kit install. We will install a lambo kit on our test car and ask him to give his opininon. He can post it here. Thewn its like a test and we can go ahead with more kits. This may help.
This shipping problem can kill the whole project. We need to start, but we need reviews as well.
