they're legal in some states...but only certain colors
i think he's right because i asked a local cop and he said just no red and blue in the front or back; so i guess its legal here(colorad). bout other states not sure?
everything but red and blue are legal for on road use in florida. Minnesota is different though, everything is illegal on the road, you can only have them on when you are parked.
I have red and have never had a problem. Ive talked to a few cops and they were honest and just said as long as they arent blinking and the tubes arent visible (which is considered external lighting) they dont really give a damn.
I know a few mechanics and they always tell me funny stories of how they work on ricer cars and once they get them onto the lift. Pop! So if you do decide to get them, dismount them if you have auto body work done on your car.

actually you could make the repair shop pay for that
nj they are illegal while driving and as far as some cops go some say that they dont care as long as the bulb is not visible...so im guessing that it is hit or miss in nj...by law they are but by cop it doesnt matter.oh yeh and why is it rice to have neons or is that at the persons discretion?
