I just wanted to know what's the best brand of HID's to put on a Celica without making any major modifications? I was thinking of purchasing the HID Hella Kits from misterjung.com because they came highly recommended. Also what bulb size would fit a Celica the best? Would it be the H7 or the 9005? confused

So by putting the H7's in replacement of the stock bulbs, will give it the HID effect?? how does it effect visability? and what about hi beams, will they look a different color?

the stock bulbs are also h7. "h7" refers to the bulb number. if you wish to change your low beam bulbs (regardless of brand), you must purchase them in h7 form.

the real after-market hid systems e.g. mchulloch (sp?), phillips, etc. will give you that tremendous bright light you see coming from audis, s2000, etc. depending on the temperature of the hid bulbs, you can have a blueish or purple tinge (although it won't be as strong on our celicas compared to bmws etc, due to the design of our headlights).

high beams are different set of bulbs. if you purchase the real hid system, not the imitation piaa, nokya etc, you don't even need high beams to see the road.

a few of his customers lately haven't been to satisfied with his service (no response to e-mails, didn't receive product).
those who did get their hids from him are happy with the product.

your choice wink

according to this site:
https://celicahobby.com/tech/lights_external.html

h7 are for the low beams, 9005 for the high beams. so you would need h7.

Your choice.
Hey, BoostinHard! I was thinking about purchasing the HID's from misterjung.com also but now I'm having second thoughts after reading Pete00 post. Would anyone know if misterjung.com is reliable or should we go with another brand?

A wise man once told me...

HID 6000K are whitish
HID 7000K are purplish
HID 8000K are bluish

I just got a pair of D2R burners from misterjung.com and I highly recommend it. His prices are one of the cheapest you'll find around. He is quick with his responses and is friendly. It took him a couple of days to respond to my order and emails, but when he did he told me that he had been busy catching up with all the orders he's been getting and that there was a time when he replied to everyone and anyone's emails within 24hrs. but the holidays has been bogging him down.

BTW I did not purchase the HID system from him; just the D2R burners. I took the HID system from a wrecked Lexus.

FYI D2R/D2S burners are the bulbs that HID systems use. You will not buy an H7 bulb for a HID system nor would you buy a D2R/D2S burner for your regular Celica headlight setup. When you buy a D2R/D2S HID system you'll look for one that will fit an H7 housing.

I've bought 3 pairs of regular H7 bulbs in the past year alone and they burn out within 4 months at a time. If you do the math getting an HID system is way better IMO. Besides regular halogen bulbs last about 300-600 hours depending on the manufacturer; whereas D2R/D2S burners last 2000-4000 hours. Think about it and do the math.

Hope this sheds a little light on the subject (no pun intended rofl ).

Thanks for the recommendation Kryptonite229. I think I will purchase it from misterjung.com and give him a try. I will let everyone know how the transaction is going. Hopefully, I will have good things to say...
