Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior neons rice or nice?

I think when they are done tastefully that can be nice. just throwin em into the cig lighter on the other hand... I'm partial to loud sounds and lights and paint anyways if it's colorfull and loud it must be fun! what do you all think?

they aren't that bright I just had to set the camera to pick up some more light so it would show up

P.S.Really do not like when people install neon light on the top of the dashboard or to the silling and driving around like an idiots...

definately sucks, someone who lives round here has a car that has a bulb on the ceiling, it's all you see when he's driving around, not the light the bulb throws, but the bulb itself. So bad

I saw one dude installed additional (to the stock )fog lights on his Celica...Come one. Lights, foglights and foglights one more time...
Or park benches...Just making me fill sorry for poor bastards...Car has nothing but Big park bench at the rear...
Or Bling-Bling Spinners... Or Farting fake exhausts...
Or tasteless decals on the cars...Some time you just asking your self do they really think all that trash makes theirs cars looks better?
P.S.But i am glad that idiots (raicers) are exist.They with theirs Ugly Race Torpidos just making our cars looks better.

I like the hondas around here that sound like weedwhackers/dirt bikes and have the autozone wheelcover spinners and about 1,000 random ass stickers. Although none of that beats the Integra with the wheel covers, hideous neons all over the place, tiny steering wheel and get this, the kid tried to mod his engine, blew it, so no more v-tech oh no, honda LS baby. Not only that, but the LS doesn't have as much shit as the V-tech so there are all these random plugs all over his engine compartment. It's great. I mean I can understand the stickers though, each one does add 5whp.

When i was talking to him i told him that my GT(manual) has only 140Hp and i do not think i will do any engine mods...I mean it's only 140hp.
Fucker got some old honda with 110-120Hp... and every time he install engine mode CAI Headers exhaust he get 20Hp off each mode...Fuckin Animal...
P.S.Oh eah i forgat.He told me that if he make his engine push 500HP !!!!! he will be straght.
I wonder how moch money do you have to spend to convert 110-120Hp car in to 500Hp monster???

Ridonkulous man. There are a lot of kids like that in my area. My friend and I used to go to where the ricers hung out if we were bored some nights for a laugh (he has a WRX). The first night they talked, my friend and I raced a couple of the kids, ripped them a new ass, after that they wouldn't talk to us, they just kind of avoided us Some kid tried to tell us his honda civic had like 400hp, I can tell you right now it didn't. My personal favorite was the kid who had a NOS system with no other engine mods, who agree's to these installs?? Put the fast and the furious DVD down and step away from your ricermobile!

what's the 7 color kit? Ability to switch to 7 colors? I think you should pic a color scheme and run with it, besides 7 colors is prolly gunna cost more and you prolly won't use all 7.

Rice is a word that people throw around now days to describe single thing that people don't like about a car. I personally consider rice to be modifications that are done to a car to make it look faster than it actually is, or modifications that actually reduce performance. Because of that, I don't think that neons are even capable of making a car rice. You can make a car look bad with neon's by sticking them every where with poor tast, but that still doesnt make the car rice.

With that being said, your neons look fine to me. I personally consider accent lighting in the interior like you have done to be in good tast.

Thank you much. Yeah rice is thrown around, I usually use it in your context but I also think rice should be classified as fast and the furious disease, they saw it on a show car/in that movie so they throw it on their car, I think rice can also be something that is gawd awful tacky.

God I hate that. I've been to a few Civic gatherings... it's hard to bite your tongue everytime someone says something dumb. "I just installed a new header and a straight-pipe. I dyno'ed at 232 last week".

Meanwhile their car smells like an oil refinery because of how many faulty mods they've done.

ditto. i think most anything can be done decently and in order to make a car look clean and show quality.

rice, imo, is thrown together as a few of you have already said. two-tiered spoilers, unpainted/poorly painted/mismatched (not level) bodykits, flame exhausts, pointless graphics, and wires showing on the interior are things that i would call rice.

those are cool, just don't go crazy and get those hot wires.

neons are good touch up for interior and sometimes exterior, but you should do it at a certain level. if you go over the limit, you just step in the rice world.
IMO, honda should make a line called Rice. Honda Rice, and Honda Rice-S. for honda owners any mod adds 20hp or more, nothing less. i wonder how much a turbo kit adds, 200hp?

btw i heard that a cai on an acura rsx-s adds more hp than a cai on celica gts. talkin about the same cai, and same mods on also. anyone knows anything?

it's a different engine so you may be able to squeeze more HP out of the Acura (Vtech I belive) than you can out of the VVTLi since the VVTLi is already so effecient.

Remember, it's not the mod itself, it's what the mod does for the engine that add's HP.
