i have a set of rims with polished lips, and on one of them has a clear coat or laquer, how can i remove that? brake remover? if so, what kind of brake remover? because thats what someone did to one of them and the clear coat finish came off, and i tried it, and it didnt work. If I can use brake cleaner, exactly what kind?

try m.e.k. it take off a lot of stuff but may be too strong, try with caution.
