Anyone Know where you can buy colored Acetate? Just searched the forum to look to see how to changed the A/C control LED's and came upon RicePowered little Topic.

u can get condoms which are light cover...but dont really work

or you can get a neon and place it behind the ac controls which works the best

I need the colored acetate too. (blue). for my clock. where do you buy it? walmart didn't have it. tried other places too.

The acetate can be picked up at a local camera store, I found some at a camera store in the mall

i found the neon install to be easier. . . i went to like 6 diff camera stores and hobby shops and i couldn't fine aceate ... i was upset . . . so i did the neon install and i think i like it better. im gonna do LED's next but still. . . . .both work though

never found any camera stores--except a RITZ Camera place at the mall--they didn't have any color acetate. any specific names of stores you guys know of?

k im not that familiar wiwth the stuff so stupid ? but will it eventully burn while beeing that close to the bulb or on the bulb

I changed my A/C panel lights.Now it's Bright neon blue.
I went to Advanced AutoParts and bought OPTX 6" Ultra mini neon (BLUE) for $17. And simply install it in(It also comes with adaptor). Looks very nice Sorry do not have pictures yet.
You can also get 3" neon it will be easier to install(i do not think you will need to modify enything).

P.S.To install 6" neon in to your A/C control panel you will need to modify black frame inside of your A/C control panel(cut it a little bit on the top of each side) For 6" tube to fit in (it's no flexible).

It's took me around 30 min to install.
P.S.I did not know that i will have to cut a litle bit...

Neons are easy to install if you can route the wiring correctly and slide the neon through the black frame holding the two buttons on. Just make sure they are flexible neons.

I tried led lights, and they only shine light in one direction and not out of the sides. Sucks.
