How much work would it take to put a six speed transmission with a vvt-i engine? Is that even possible? I'm just wondering cause the GT DESPERATELY needs a sixth gear. Most of you should know what i mean. Thanks

with the money it'll cost, might as well take the loss of trading your current celi with a 6 sp.

Six Speed

Oh Yeah

I have a 6 speed GT smile
One of the benefits of a european celica.

You pay twice as much as a us celica, but you get 6 speed

it'll be about $2-$5 just for the installation, and it will take about another $2-$3 thousand for the parts.

it's expensive, but its a great show mod thumbsup. it should also increase your times slightly over those of regular GT models.

I guess it's not my thing . . . I just take the loss of depreciation and trade it

for that kind of money, might as well do an engine swap

yeah, for most trading it in would make more sense. but for people who own a gt and have put countless hours into customizing their car...it would almost be a waste to trade it in. so if they want a 6-spd transmission, then it's better to pay $$ and keep their car then trading it in for a 6-spd gts.

Thanks... i figured it would be an ungodly amount of money to do. The way i figure though is that if one turboed a gt, which would go well cause of the lower compression ratios, a six speed might make a little more... uh need a word maybe "pep".
