Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Good Deal?

Hey guys i am still undecided on a body kit or not,but there arent too many choices where i live that are reliable to install it.i got a quote from a friend of my girlfriends dad of 500 to paint and install.but the guy is independent and mostly fixes up totalled cars.what you guys think?good deal or should i pay more and almost 500 more and go to the professional body shop?

500 sounds like a pretty fair deal, you might be able to install it yourself, checkit out first. What kit are you thinking about getting. Good luck.

Well i started out all about the blitz kit.i love it.but i am starting to like the bc2 kit

If it is not a recommended for sure fit, I would let a shop put it in. But if its Kaminari, etc. (brands with warranty) then do it yourself. I've heard that Biltz isn't very good, but it's your car.

do they have experience in installing kits? if so, it is a very good deal.

Make sure he can match the paint. A lot of people who don't work for shops can't paint match and then it ends up looking like crap. Ask if you can look at a car he has done that wasn't totally repainted and see if the paint matches.
