Celica Forums General Discussion General Car accident but cheap paint job...need some info

K guys a quick question...jus got home from watchin a movie with my gf and i hit a car goin out of the isle in the parkin lot. I pulled over and looked at the car i hit and jus scratches and chipped paint. but no damage other than the paint. i ran my fingers through the other cars bumper and paint jus started comin off in lines. correct me if im wrong but i kno it shouldnt do that unless its cheap paint job rite??? the damage on my car was just scratches too but paint didnt come off. but the other car seem like you can just peel it rite off. how much are those paint jobs anyway?? im thinkink it should cost more than 150 for the rear side bumper for the same kind of paint rite??? it seems like the paint wasnt sticking to the bumper itself and comes rite off...i have a paint off that guys car and i can take a pic 2morrow to show you guys wat im talkin bout...

i wanna see first how much it will cost. if not a lot then i'll pay. but dont you think thats a cheap paint job???

so if that guy takes his car to carwash, his paint chips off too. the pressure water will take that off. so if he tells you it costed a lot for the paintjob and asks alot, tell him to fuck off

yea he just called me and told me that he just got his paint job last summer and also told me how much it will cost for the rear bumper. guess how much he said...$560 just to repaint the rear bumper...wtf

That's a load of crap... painting a rear bumper with PPG or DuPont (good paint) with a special effect like chameleon or iridescent clearcoat won't even cost that much!!

Tell him to get three estimates for you to look at, and if he balks at the idea, tell him to shove off.

i kinda figured dat he was bsing because he asked me wats da price im looking for. And also he told me that he works at autobody place so ders no doubt that he just asked to raise the price. how much should they run about anyway?? jus for the rear bumper???

the paint sounds old and sounds like it was on cheap...so to have it redone, it shouldn't be that much

i think its cheap paint job...im goin over there rite now and take some pix. i'll post it up and show you guys. you guys can give me an estimate how much you guys think it'll cost hahahaha
