I got my b&m from Summitracing.com. I paid about 150.00 for it and I really like it. My friend has the trd shortshifter and although I don't know what he paid for it, it does quite well also. Oh, I think my throw were reduced by almost 40%. Don't know what trd is.

trd is the smoothest.
On a GTS, making the shifter any more notchy is a pain in the arse

I had heard and I don't know if this is true, but that a TRD short shifter only works with a 2000 original transmission not the remanufactured one for missifts? I have my own doubts about short shifters, but if I do intend to get one I'm sure I will get the best possible through research and experience on other Celicas. Has anyone heard of this?

Is it true that for the TRD you need to change the stick with the housing while the b&m only changes the stick?

Is it true that for the TRD you need to change the stick with the housing while the b&m only changes the stick? TRD is a full replacement...meaning the housing and stick... TWM and B&M are just the sticks...so you have to take the stock stick out of the housing, then replace it with new one.

I'm thinking either TWM or B&M, which is the least notchy of these two? And are either of them smoother then the stock GTS shifter?

If you decide on the B&M, you can get it HERE [ suprastore.com] for $125. They have great service too!

go with TRD. I have TRD and i love it. Install is simple and short. Plus it is just bolt on, no glues or having to take a stick out or anything... I got mine from here [ toyotaterritory.com] but only go with this if you have the GTS if not i guess you should go with the other knock offs mentioned..
