I have a 2003 Celica with the JBL system w/ changer from Toyota. I am trying to put in a CDA-7894 Alpine head unit because its practically brand new. The connectors are all weird and no place seems to carry a correct harness. Schosche(spell) and Metra say they 'know' what it takes, but no one has made it. Is this true?

So right now, I am driving around with a big hole in my dash because we had everything ready to go and tried to hook up the new stereo - and what do you know - the connectors don't match!!!!!! [Mad]

I just don't know what to do from here. I also have an Alpine amp, Bazooka subs, and an Alpine changer that I am trying to put in this damn car and we're just kind of stuck.

Any help is REALLY appreciated!

Thanks!
Melissa

if you have the gts then the wiring code is totaly different, i dont know if they sell the adapters because they didn't have it when i put mine in. i had to cut wires from the stock amplifier under the glove box and use the power wire from the harness...
if you can get the adapter that will be the best thing to do

I just installed an alpine cda-7995 on my GTS and I couldn't find a wiring harness adaptor for it so I found out which wires I need from the stock connector and just cut and connected them on the supplied alpine harness. If you need the wire code for the 8 speaker system, let me know and we'll see if I can email some kind of copy to you.
better yet, I think they have the wiring code here on the audio forum.

I got the JBL system also and I feel your pain, but I did'nt leave the hole open though. I intalled the deck w/o hooking it up. I usually install everything myself but I couldn't figure the damn thing out. There is an internal amp located in the kick panel where the speaker wires start. I had Best Buy hard-wire it and it took them 5 hours to do it. Good luck... thumbsup
